Opening the app to be meet with a full screen ad I can’t close without restarting the app is unacceptable.

Why do I need to pay to see old messages? Or to message people I’ve messaged in the past? Its dumb.

They will nickel and dime you to ensure you upgrade to their most premium version of the app to access any cool features.
Real men for Real Connections
Scruff has consistently provided a trusted method of finding real men -- not scammers or AI created mimics -- for casual connections and sometimes friendships. Regular membership includes ability to quickly see who has looked at your profile and then contact that person if you so wish. Search function allows you to screen out profiles not likely to be a good fit. The Match function lets you find possible connections in your area. And no extra and outrageously expensive hidden fees like the Gr App.

Need more functionality around admining one’s own profile
Customer service is nonexistent and functionality is decreasing. It’s giving “company about to be bought” and that’s unfortunate because of the trust they built with their original platform.
Unnecessary notifications.
Tinder and Grindr have done it for years. Send you notifications out of the blue for no reason. Just to get you to engage with the app. Now Scruff is doing it. No new messages, views, taps, nothing. Why the useless notifications?

I’ve tried many of these apps both paid and free. This is the one I keep using and, based on responses to my profile, that others keep using too.
Friendliest Gay Dating App
The guys on Scruff are the friendliest and more authentic than other apps, and love how easy it is to use the app
Bland
Come up with some more features. This app really hasn’t changed in a number of years, it’s usually the second or third app to go to.
Privacy not respected
New user agreement makes you allow them use of all your content and pictures, not worth it. So much for privacy.
Zero free feature/ Pointless dating app
There are zero search features in the free version and a limited scroll. Can’t search by age range, height, or even relationship status. This limits basically anything you’d want a dating app for. Deleted this after a few hours. Would not recommend.
DONT PAY FOR SCRUFF
Too msny ads and dozens of AI bots on the paid version. When I initially subscribed, Scruff was ad-free with very few scsm accounts. Now scam accounts using AI-piwered BOTs are phishingbfor sensitive info and paid advertising clog my feed. I get a dozen bots a day. I pay hundreds of dollars and the add and scams increase every day.

I can understand how Scruff wants to limit pornographic/nudity photos, but their limits are so restrictive they make it difficult to convey one’s personality or interests.

Totally Stale Dead
Not sure this App even works as locally it is completely stale dead even in Los Angeles. Lots of inactive and obvious fake profiles. Scruff is very misleading showing you first gorgeous profiles that are 6,000 miles away but locally just a mirage. Scruff is dead by design with too many paywalls. Who’s wants to subscribe ?

The only people who ever messaged me are scammers who have brand new accounts. No way to filter out the unverified. If you want to hook up, there's much better web apps. Of all the apps I've tried. This is the only one that kind of seemed like dating, but not effective.
If this was a dating app, you should be able to out people in relationships better from messaging you.

Missing very useful functions
Should add an all-text search for paying users. Also, a way to clear old woofs, like how you can clear old messages. How hard can this be?
