Great app but…

Need to be able to add pictures into the dive log

I think this might be better than a Suunto Eon Core!

Let me address the title, for me, the brightness of the Apple Watch far exceeds anything that you can get on the eon core, so from a hardware perspective, this app far exceeds anything on a purpose-built dive computer. I love the simplicity that it offers, but showing all the important information. I think it’s great value for money if you purchase it monthly, and even though I appreciate the work that’s gone into the app. I think the 12 month subscription is a little bit overpriced.

Great

Works great as a dive computer with Apple Watch Ultra 2

Great app once it worked

For anyone having problems with the app getting stuck during scuba dive pre-dive screen. I had that issue from the get go, the app would log the dive but never get past the pre-dive screen and the action button orange stripe on the bottom left was missing . The way I solved it was, I had to disable action button, set auto launch at depth to immediate, then completely uninstall Oceanic app from the phone and watch, then update both phone and watch to latest version (as of 8/1/26), reinstall phone app first, then watch app (click on install from both watch and phone’s watch App Store at the same time once the watch starts install), then ensure all the setup process is completed in the phone app. Then it all worked. This took me a LONG time to figure out, I tried just about every combination, and this worked. Hope it helps someone, but I hope even more that I’m an isolated case and that it just works for you. Once it works, it’s awesome! Makes my Apple Watch Ultta a worthy dive tool. NOTE: the pre-dive should be able to turn into a dive on the surface submerging the phone does not start a dive it just takes you to the main screen and water locks the phone.

Super app

Great app, but poor logbook and missing key features

I’ve used the app on 10 dives so far, and the usability is intuitive and easy. No fussing with buttons or menus, very modern, great screen readable and UI. Brings dive computers into the 2020s.

This review will be a 5/5 when they make the logbook and dive planner useful, in addition to some extra functionality:

1) you need to be able to import old dives into. I will not use the logbook function otherwise even it would be more convenient than my current logbook app (Dive Log). Also, until you fix that, please make the export function easier. Let me export dive by dive and not just via email. Very inconvenient. Is the about ecosystem lock in? I’ll just avoid Oceanic products if that’s the case.

And I accidentally deleted a few dives off my app. They’re still on the watch, but there doesn’t appear to be an easy way to get them back on the app, which is odd.

2) would be nice if there were more functionality. I was expecting more detailed weather and info on popular dive spots.

3) The map for dives doesn’t have a scale. What map doesn’t have a scale? I was trying to measure drifts dive entries and exits the other day - hard to do without a basic map feature called a scale.

4) I can’t find a written operator handbook online, just cursory video tutorials. Not good enough - I want to know more details on something my life depends on. For example, the safety stop appeared to come on early last dive. When exactly is is supposed to? Does it reset the countdown if I go back down? Won’t know until I try it underwater because these things don’t exist in the tutorial videos in that level of detail.

The manual might exist. It’s just not in an obvious customer friendly spot right at the front page. Or it might not exist, and that’s not forgivable.

5) For tank settings, I almost left NITROX on instead of air the other day for an air dive. Is there no automatic warning for this to remind me what I’m set on? I’d hate to accidentally blow through my no deco and get DCI because a basic feature could have caught my error. And without a written manual, there’s no way to know if the warning exists other than accidentally do it and find out…and this tidbit does not show up in the video, so I guess not?

**With these features added, I’ll happily make this a five star review. Psst tell the product manager.**

Love it

Especially love the logbook feature!

Good app

Not perfect app, but quite good. Not sure why free diving and snorkel are separate services and one tracks GPS data but the other doesn’t.

Great app

Very helpful understanding dive stats

New diver review

Phenomenal app. Used as a backup dive computer and it worked great

First time user!!

I’ve been diving for 30+ years, this app and its integration with the ultra 2 Apple Watch is amazing. I wore a wrist computer as well to check for accuracy, it was spot on. Love the digital log book with GPS mapping too.

Oceanic on Ultra

Great App — Just Missing Air Integration

Oceanic+ on the Apple Watch Ultra is a great app and an impressive recreational dive computer. The interface is clean, easy to use, and gives you the information you need underwater.

The one major thing missing is air integration. Even for a recreational diver, being able to see tank pressure and remaining gas directly on the Ultra would take Oceanic+ to the next level and make it a much more complete dive computer.

Great work so far—now let’s get that air integration going! 🤿

Very Nice App but still many issues

After 27 dives with the app, I find it very very nice to use underwater and to review the dives logbook and the surface interval indications etc. Unfortunately there are still many issues that need to be fixed. The list of issues I had are listed here -connecting to the app seems not to work outside the US, if diving in the Caribbean you need to connect through a US VPN. -the app has many issues syncing appropriately with the Apple Watch, you need to try several time before it works. -I lost two dives from the log book as it did not sync and than the dives disappeared on the watch -I could not trigger the app under water it was stuck on the « I’m fit and ready » screen, the app froze under water when I was at 30ft I tried to reboot but it got worse as the app on the phone asked me to sync with my Iphone so I had to do the dive on my wife’s computer. Without those issues the watch and the app would be a great dive computer combination !

App used for about 6 months

Easy to setup and read underwater.
Apple Watch Ultra best app.
All the information and alarms useful for a safe recreational dive . Matched my Shearwater Perdix 3 data and alarm ….

Surprisingly Good.

Had to donate my usual Suunto after partners battery died. Impressed with how easy the set up and usage is. Set to activate at 1 metre (Apple ultra 2), worked both times without any pre dive pressing, just the action button when it sensed depth. Bright, easy to read display UW. Compared data to my usual Suunto and seemed spot on. Great log book function with loads of info. Definitely happy to continue for rest of holiday. Only thing I can’t find immediately is the no fly warning. (Recreational diver with 250+ dives)

Simply the best

Forget backup this is the best. Easy to program and easy to read.

It’s easy and simple

Really like the way it is just their I don’t have to add another thing to the list. For us it is perfect does all the thing was need including nitrox with no problem also logs your dive with no effort.

Amazing❤️❤️❤️

I love this app for scuba diving

Fantastic app

Great app with a few limitations. Easy to use with a lovely user interface. My problem is that it doesn’t have air integration. It also makes it very hard to share data with other logs and apps

Needs a better plan

So I dive twice a year and each time I subscribe for a month to cover my 10-12 dives during my one week vacation and then have to remember to cancel when I come back. There has to be a better way. I like the fact that I have a second dive computer within the camera case and the convenience of using my iPhone underwater is so great for me. The subscription model is annoying.
