App connects, says needs update and then disconnects. Did anyone test this flaming trash ?

What happened?

This controller is a SOLID option for mobile gameplay. I have used a Backbone Pro and it didn’t have the controller “feel” I was looking for and their app stinks. Though the Backbone is direct connect and Bluetooth I find its user experience is based on either you want a Bluetooth or direct connection. We need to either have recommendation games removed or updated. I mean we have The Division mobile, Diablo Immortal mobile, and Destiny rising! 3 near to console adaptations. This controller should be updated with the times.

This app needs to be updated and optimized. Thank you.

Dear SCUF Nomad Companion App Development Team,
Hello! I am very glad to be using your brand's Nomad controller. However, during my usage, I noticed that the last update for this app was over a year ago, which makes me quite disappointed—it feels as though you have abandoned this product and its app.
There are still some issues with this app that I hope can be improved.
First, as a game launcher, its app icon display functionality is very limited. When importing an external game that your team hasn't updated into the game library in time, the app can only show a dull gray image with no option to edit it. Furthermore, your updates to the game library are very limited—a large number of games released in the past one to two years are missing from your preset "All Games" list. As a result, when many players are playing newer games, they are met with a row of dull gray images, which clearly defeats the purpose and fun of having a game launcher.
Second, there is a noticeable delay of nearly one second or more when double-clicking the SCUF icon button. Often, players want to capture a screenshot in an instant, but by the time this one-second-plus delay passes, the moment they wanted to preserve may already be gone.
Finally, this controller itself is excellent, but the customization options for its curve settings are far too limited—there are only four preset modes to choose from. If users could freely adjust the curve paths, this would be a perfect mobile controller.
These are the three most critical issues. If you could read this feedback and make some improvements, we would be extremely grateful, and will continue to use this controller and purchase and use more SCUF controllers. Thank you!

Needs DELTA FORCE MOBILE

I bought this controller to play 1 game specifically and it’s not available, despite being probably the biggest game in China and very popular globally. Not to mention it’s FREE TO PLAY. PLEASE ADD DELTA FORCE MOBILE TO YOUR LAUNCHER!! I’ll change my review if/when you do.

Does not work with most games. They don’t support the app

This app is pretty useless

Update games please!

The games list inside the app for mapping is out of date. We need more game options like Metalstorm. and Warframe.many more pl ty

Good app but…

It’s a good app, a lot more clearer and easier to navigate than backbone. Also doesn’t cost anything but the nomad controller is very laggy.

Fix app icons

Whenever I add a new game to the SCUF app the games icon appears blank with no app icon art. Please fix

Bought them all. Best Controller, Worst App.

Tried the SCUF Nomad, Razer Kishi, and The Backbone. The Nomad is directly in the Middle, because the controller is better than both, but the app is also worse than both. I can’t tell when the last time the games on the app were actually on Gamepass. It feels like it’s literally the Gamepass library from 2022. My biggest reason this is getting 3 stars is the Nomad Controller itself. Not to be someone who has a lot of complaints but you can’t even launch the Home Screen of Cloud Gaming. You have to choose one of the outdated games and hope that it is actually on there. Because it might load cloud gaming and tell you that the game was removed years ago. If we could add our own applications to the nomad handler that would be ideal. Apple Arcade works perfectly with Nomad mostly. But Xbox Cloud gaming and PS Remote Play are severely outdated and lacking. Especially Xbox since the standard app for cloud gaming seems to be eons ahead of the one nomad used.

Great controller

Great software too

Gud

I like the app but it needs more. The list of curated games is very incomplete. Allow us to add any game. Also you have to have GeForce now! Where is it? If it at least had that I’d probably give it five stars. The controller itself has a great feel and heft, unlike my Backbone. But right now the Backbone does more of what I want, which is to be able to play my Steam library on the go on GeForce Now.

Games

I’m not trying to make anything of it, backbone lets me play the new cod bo6 on my Xbox cloud gaming. scuf does not even show it on Xbox gaming pass and when I search for it, it won’t come up…. Why is that?

Needs a crucial update

Love the controller feel and functionality, but for petes sake let us add any app so that we don’t have to work around this. War Robots, Brawl Stars, Mech Arena all work with your controller, but cant add them to the app list for some reason. Also, as others have stated there is a very slight input lag, that Im sure could be updated. Ive used regular gaming controllers via bluetooth that don’t lag this much. Overall a 4/5 but a few updates could knock BackBone off their high horse.

Input lag

It works okay, but the occurrence of input lag is very often and terrible. It makes my game unplayable and I end up just having to connect an actual controller to my phone.

Works well

App itself works well for remapping controls and whatnot but the game overview needs work. A lot of the games I play don’t show up. Doesn’t even show Resident Evil Village as an option in the App Store and that’s been there a while. Controller still works with the game though so that’s fine.

Controller itself is a 5/5 though. Quality is impressive and very comfortable to hold. Control scheme is a bit different but not bad after you get used to it. Love the back paddles too. Wish apex mobile was still a thing with this controller.

Great controller. Bluetooth connectivity is lacking

The app is fine. Although adding games to the app should be easier. Corsair take note of how backbone allows you to add games to their app. The feel of this controller is solid. The thumb sticks feel great compared to the backbone.

Great controller. Bluetooth connectivity is lacking

The app is fine. This review is more towards the controller itself. The feel of this controller is solid. The thumb sticks feel great compared to the backbone IMO. I’m disappointed in the Bluetooth connection lag. I feel like having 3 things connected to Bluetooth at once is the culprit. Apple Watch, AirPods Pro, And the scuf controller all at once could be causing the problem. Using the controller without using my AirPods for sound made the lag better. But it’s still not great. I don’t know what you guys have to do but do something to fix this. Otherwise I feel like I wasted my money on this controller.

Laggy controller.

I would avoid this controller at all cost. It's at times laggy. Which pretty much defeats the whole point of having it.
