I enjoy reading articles about my hometown while living away
Glitcy in to subscribe
Can’t get into subscription and there is no help!!!
Cluttered
Visually cluttered and low content value. Seems like portsmouth should have better! The app is cookie cutter and crashes constantly on iOS
Expensive, no real news
As a decades long subscriber, we recently canceled. USA Today has gutted this paper, with only a couple of actual reporters on the ground. There is typically only 2 pages of actual local news, 1/2 of that is drafted from press releases or other sources. The rest is USA Today filler. And, it’s is 3x as expensive as a much better, non-profit owned statewide paper in Maine. Sad to see what has happened to the state of local news in NH, but in the Seacoast in particular.

Also, articles are often a week out of date. They report businesses closed for Christmas in the new year.

Easy to get your daily dose of news
Straightforward to use. Quick to load. Offers interactive and static/enewspaper versions.
Terrible
Will not let a person access account or digital version of the Portsmouth Herald
Review
I get up early. Many time I log in during the only time I have to read the paper and yesterdays paper is still showing
My go to source…
For local news of the Seacoast area as well as sports coverage Seacoastonline coverage is great.

Worse than the other App

Good app
Works well. Much better than the online version which is a real pain to sign into.
My only tiny gripe is reading the comics. You cannot lay the phone sideways and easily expand the images.
The Herald is my primary source for news in the morning

Seacoast online vs Portsmouth Hearld
The ne Seacoast online is the most funky and non user friendly app associated with any of the five papers I read.
Why did the Portsmouth Herald get removed from the App Store?
My spouse has it on her iPad and it still works wonderfully.
I am close to dropping the Hearld from my reading list because it is torture to use the app.

Ads shift and move article text
I understand the need for ads, but it is ridiculous that they move around or change in size so that the article text moves up and down as you’re reading. This is basic web design. Fix it.
Terrible
Crashes frequently.
No epaper
Epaper has disappeared. Deleted and reloaded app multiple times still no paper
Portsmouth herald
I subscribe to the paper but for some reason can’t see it online when I am out of the country. I don’t know why and have sent emails to seacoast online but to no avail. I can see my New York Times with no problem
Seacoast online
Good!
