Your seed phrase can’t go in your will. Once a will goes through probate, it usually becomes a public court record anyone can read. Seal gives you a better place: sealed envelopes that open only if you go quiet for a long time and the people you trust agree it’s time. WRITE THE ENVELOPES Write one envelope for each person. Put in a letter, photos, a voice message or a short video, your seed phrases, passwords and account details, and a list of what to do first. If you type a seed phrase into the letter by mistake, Seal notices and offers to move it somewhere safer. YOUR PASSWORDS, ANY DAY The passwords you save for your family are yours to use too. Tap the key to search them and copy one after a single Face ID check. The copy stays on your phone and clears itself in 90 seconds. HAND OUT THE KEYS Pick two or three people you trust to be key holders. Give each one a small security key, like a YubiKey, or let them use Face ID. You choose the rule, like “two of my three key holders.” Key holders never see what is in your envelopes or who they are for. STAY IN TOUCH, THAT’S ALL Open Seal now and then, or tell Siri “Check in with Seal.” If you go silent longer than your rule allows, Seal warns you for weeks first. Then your key holders have to tap their keys. One check-in from you stops it all. NO IPHONE NEEDED TO RECEIVE The people you write to and your key holders don’t need an iPhone. With a security key, they can open their envelopes at sealmessenger.com in any current browser, Android included. Key holders can confirm they still have their key, start or object to a claim, and tap, all from the browser. You still write on an iPhone or iPad. WHEN THE TIME COMES Once enough key holders tap, your envelopes open on each person’s phone or browser, in the order you chose. Secrets stay hidden until the person confirms it’s them. HELP WITH THE BLANK PAGE Seal can ask you questions, a few at once or one a week about one person. Answer out loud and your words become part of their envelope. Answering counts as a check-in. It all happens on your phone. FOR COUPLES, AND FOR BILLS “Set up with my partner” lets each of you hold a key for the other. A second, separate set can cover things that can’t wait, like insurance, the mortgage and doctors, with its own key holders and a shorter rule. BUILT SO NOBODY CAN PEEK Everything is encrypted on your phone before it leaves. Nothing we run can read, open or change your envelopes. Only locked data is stored, on Apple’s iCloud servers. The web page is code we serve, so the iPhone app stays the stronger choice. Our small relay for key holders on the web can fail to deliver a record, but it can’t forge one. Keys use modern encryption, including a method built to hold up against future quantum computers. Key holders confirm once a year that they still have their key. Every step goes into a signed, timestamped record that a free script can check without the app, so your family isn’t stuck if Seal is ever gone. No ads, no tracking, no analytics. EVERYONE MEETS IN PERSON Recipients and key holders are added face to face, with a tap of their key or Face ID. No usernames, phone numbers or contact lists. HONEST LIMITS Seal can’t know that you died, only that you’ve been quiet. That’s why the warnings are long. Without an iPhone, recipients and key holders need a security key that works in a browser, like a YubiKey 5. Once your envelopes open, they can’t be closed again. If you lose every key and have no backup key, your account can’t be recovered. There is no email or text reset. Apple’s servers can see a few basics, like how many people get envelopes from you. Never who they are or what you wrote. Seal is not a will and isn’t legal advice. Your words, your keys, your people. Sealed until it matters.
