Where marine weather forecasting needs to go

Been using for a few weeks sailing in the Bahamas at a time with some strong weather systems. Really like that it automates a lot of the cross checking I have to do with other weather apps (different models, wave height/wave period…etc). Less likely I miss something. It does comfort/safety really well. Areas to improve: Really want to see the sailing specific features tuned up more (light wind is not always best, wind angle matters a lot, boat speed varies with wind forecast). 2) Needs to handle errors/limits on forecast dates better. 3) Spotcasts feel like you should enter a start and end point to get a better report, not just end point. Keep up the good work. Will keep it as part of a suite of planning apps I use for now.

Thanks for the feedback! We took a look at the sailboat guidance and made a correction which will now provide better sailing specific guidance for TripCasts. Just make sure your vessel type is set to "Sailboat" under settings, no app update necessary, you can try again now. Feel free to email us if you think the guidance needs more tuning and we'd be happy to work with you on making the improvements. We will also work on improving the forecast date error handling better, thanks for pointing that out. For trip planning (start and end points), TripCasts are the recommended feature to use. You can choose either a one-way or two-way trip for TripCasts. Appreciate the constructive feedback.

Dangerous ..Big problem routes vessels over land

This is not ready for serious use. It will send you the direct route whether there is water or not. Can’t understand how anyone with any time on even short passages would give this 5 stars. At present it is dangerous other than point to point over deep water. Has great promise hope they can fix this. Would be an awesome app.

We just released an an updated version (v1.1.24) which now supports automatic land avoidance for routes when creating a TripCast. Give it try. Thank you for the feedback.

Way above expectations

In short this app is nothing short of exceptional, with nothing like it available.
I’ve only been using it for a few days, but so far it has been absolutely on point.
It’s definitely an extremely useful tool to have in your tool box of boating apps.
