For freshwater and close land

Maximum depth 30meters

Response from developer

Hi, there is a Max Depth option in SeaNav Advanced Settings which defaults to 20m. Change it to All to show all depths and you will then see all the contours and depths greater than 30m. Looking at the Tasman Sea I can see contours out at 4000m and greater. I hope this helps? Fair winds The PocketMariner crew

Good

Good but fails when in need, so dependsnt on internet and 4/5g

Response from developer

Hi, SeaNav does not need internet to work. It can download and store all the necessary charts and tides for offline use. The only features that require internet are the internet AIS add-on and live weather. Could you please email us at help@pocketmariner.com so we can understand what was not working for you and help? Best regards The PocketMariner Team

Frozen / locked

Installed yesterday, no way to undo some functions, now the app is broken or locked.

Cant do anything just look at some strange screen.

Response from developer

Hi Tyler, I am very sorry to hear that. It doesn’t sound right and we haven’t seen that in testing or had other similar feedback. There must be something unique going on. Could you please email us at help@pocketmariner.com so we can get you un-stuck as soon as possible. Best regards The PocketMariner crew

Difficult to use

This app has a tendency to neil and dime you for everything, including all the charts do not buy

Response from developer

Hi, we are sorry to hear this. All SeaNav’s main navigation features and tools like routes, tracks compass and markers and the Apple Watch SeaNav app are free to use. Our charts are very competitively priced and are not free to us. We would love to hear more about how we could improve SeaNav’s ease of use for you. Could you please email us at help@pocketmariner.com with your suggestions. Best regards The PocketMariner crew

Free to try, Easy to use and great price

I have tried several marine apps and find SeaNav the best for ease of use and price

Not picking up no Vessels or ship traffic

I am not picking up no vessels or no ship traffic at all on this app and I just got charged last night another $30. Thinking about canceling this app

Much easier to use and less expensive than Savvy Navvy

I found this app much easier to use than Savvy Navvy. It has more features including a free SeaNav Watch app and is way less expensive for the charts I need. Charts for the British Virgin Islands were just £10.

3 Abos umsonst..

Response from developer

I watch the SeaNav app when we are cruise to watch our ship and the current and winds while we travel

UKHO Charts at a reasonable price

If you're searching for a fully-featured chartplotter for your iPad or iPhone, SeaNav is definitely worth considering. The app is free to download and includes a single chart covering the Solent, perfect for evaluation. If you're satisfied with the app, you can purchase additional charts for your specific regions.

After testing several alternatives like Navionics and Savvy Navvy, I opted for SeaNav. The interface is intuitive, clear, and free from unnecessary screen clutter.

Charts:
SeaNav's UK charts are based on official UKHO vector charts, allowing you to click on charted objects to access bearing, distance, and other relevant information. The app also offers the ability to overlay Google Maps or satellite images for land areas not covered by UKHO charts, which is a particularly handy feature.

Navigation:
SeaNav provides two primary navigation modes: sailing to a single point or following a predefined route. You can easily reverse the direction of routes, making it simple to reuse the same route for both inbound and outbound journeys.

NMEA Integration:
The app supports NMEA data (including GPS, AIS, and Wind Instruments) via your local network using TCP or UDP network packets. This feature is especially useful for providing speed and location data when using an iPad without built-in GPS.

Wind Instruments:
SeaNav features a side panel that displays both Apparent and True wind information. True wind data can be sourced either via the internet (for an additional charge) or through a local NMEA feed.

AIS (Automatic Identification System):
The app offers two AIS options: internet-based AIS or a local NMEA feed. While the internet option requires connectivity and may introduce slight delays, the local NMEA feed offers more accurate, real-time updates. Note that AIS is only available as an in-app purchase.

Question

Can you see water depth on Apple Watch ?

Response from developer

Hi, Thanks fory your rating and question. We are hoping to add a Depth watch face for the next release. It will show the current depth (either from NMEA depth sounder or chart depth) and the depth history for the last 30 minutes ( for contour tracking). If you have any other suggestions for the depth display please let us know. The PocketMariner crew

Response from developer

Awesome tool

This has to be one of the best tools to have in your hands.

Very good app / très bonne app

I’ve been using SeaNav for about two years now, it’s a great app and very well suited to my needs on the water (principally inshore along the coasts of the Loire Atlantique and the Morbihan in France. It’s reliable and functional and I’m really happy with it. I can navigate in safety and keep a track of where I have sailed.

Long term review

I have used this app for several years now and I am pleased to say it is really good. It’s excellent value for money and the developer is adding new functionality. It works and does way more than it says on the tin. Very good value for money

Response from developer

Thank you very much for your wonderful feedback.

Used to be good

Downloaded the French charts a few days ago and there’s so much information missing. Bouys not shown, a large wind farm not shown. Completely useless. We have used the UK ones for several years and they were fine. We have now swapped to navionics.

Response from developer

Hi, We supply the latest official French Hydrographic Office charts for the whole of France and Corsica including the Channel with regular updates at all scales. We are not aware of any missing information with the latest update. Have you zoomed in to see the details? Are you sure you have an up to date French charts subscription with the latest updates? Can you please email us at help@pockemariner.com so we can help you.

Misleading marketing do not buy

They do not make it clear that chart purchases are required. To make it even more misleading I can’t use the charts Boat Beacon which I already purchased from them. There was a link in Boat Beacon to SeaNav saying I could navigate with SeaNav and show AIS overlays on the charts. Well now they want me to repurchase the charts I already bought from them
