Terrible app for boating
Installed app on my ipad and iphone and way too much unreadable data when looking for a location. Scrolling in works better.
Still trouble with easyTRX3 transponder
Position is lost often, even though GPS signal is definitely OK! That‘s absolutely inacceptable. Support doesn‘t respond to this serious problem at all!
Great and Getting Better
I’ve been following SeaPilot from their beginnings and their connection to Raymarine my primary chart plotters and VHF, I gave it a try. The coastal charts around Florida are enough to get around on, the AIS responds quickly. Each update improves it even more. Diehard fan and hope to continue to see more growth and integration in the app. Awesome stuff thus far, looking forward to even more.

Nichts für Schlauchbootkapitäne!
Aber für dieses Geld bekommt man ein Spitzenprodukt, welches Schäden durch Grundberührungen sicher verhindert. Es macht das bisher eingesetzte Garmin überflüssig. Auf dem Handy habe ich erst nur getestet, nun auf dem iPad ist es für meine Bedürnisse optimal. Der Export der GPX-Files verlief in plug&play, alle alten Daten / Tracks und Wegpunkte sind weiter verfügbar.

Useless
Downloaded the app and paid £17.00 for a chart. Unable to load or activate chart. Useless. Don’t waste your time and money.
Update:
I have now managed to activate the chart. It does not scale in and out well with far too much detail (e.g. soundings) completely cluttering the chart when zoomed out. (You can turn off deep water soundings but this does not solve the problem).
As far as I can tell, you need to upgrade to ‘Premium’ if you want to access any significant functionality (e.g. even the basic features of any navigation software such as plotting routes).
There does not appear to be any weather and tide data available beyond the ‘tidal diamond’ in-out information found on paper charts.
I was really hoping for something better than the ‘other’ marine navigation app which frustrating as it is, remains far ahead of the free version of this.

Careful checking of the Seapilot website does say that additional features are available in the premium version. I’d be more inclined to pay if there was a free trial period. I’m a bit reluctant to put £40 down only to find that it’s not what I want.

App has worked great for me.
Downloaded this app on my IPhone to have a backup. I like having redundant systems. Well today my Raymarine chart plotter took a dump. The Seapilot app helped me navigate flawlessly.

Very good Chart Plotter
Have used Sea Pilot for a year now, ever since Garmin stopped supporting their iPhone plotter.
Tried most of the other apps, and paid for several only to find that they were not adequate.
Sea Pilot is very good. Charts are accurate and seamless. Very easy to plot a course and edit as needed easily.

Couldn’t log in
Tried to use the facebook option to log in, which didn’t work and kept on reverting to the log in screen.

Does not appear to have information for the Chesapeake Bay

All NOAA S-57 chart data is available in Seapilot, including Chesapeake bay. All chart areas must be installed in the device. Please go to Settings-Charts to install.

the fact that Lake Okeechobee is missing from the Florida map, is a bit disturbing

The price 40USD for Premium includes all extra functionality like weather routing, auto routing, route planning, weather forecast, NMEA integration, multiple use of five devices, etc, etc and also internet AIS.
Great App
This APP is really cool...received as a promotional gift at the Miami Boat Show. Downloaded the APP to my I phone and used it right away over on the gulf side...works great and you can set it up to show what you want to see or not. I feel this is a great way to backup your chart plotter just in case...

Tolle App mit mehr Detailbedarf
Tolle App - besonders die Möglichkeit, die Bezugsquelle der AIS-Daten selbst zu definieren. Was mir fehlt:
1.: ETA-Daten der Schiffe (nächster Hafen sowie vom Schiff angegebenes ETA)
2.: Die "Güte" der angezeigten Daten (wie alt sind die AIS-Daten, die dargestellt werden)
