About
Seathat is a maritime information and community app built for seafarers, navigation officers, maritime professionals, and aspiring seafarers.
Seathat focuses on a specific maritime use case: reducing the information imbalance people face before boarding a vessel. General news and community apps do not organize vessel information, maritime issues, shipboard context, and seafarer experiences from the perspective of people who work at sea.
Key features:
- Search vessels and review basic ship information
- Read maritime reports and shipping issues in a seafarer-oriented context
- Share vessel reviews and onboard experiences
- Use sea memos and lounge posts for maritime community discussions
- Help aspiring seafarers understand ships and maritime context before boarding
Seathat is not a generic news feed or template community app. It is designed around a professional maritime audience and practical pre-boarding vessel information needs.

This update reflects requests and feedback from real seafarers and maritime officers, with a strong focus on improving the ship review experience. Seafarers can now more easily check vessel information, read real onboard experiences, and share reviews about ships they have worked on. These improvements are designed to help users better understand a vessel before boarding. We welcome suggestions, corrections, and requests from the maritime community. Please contact us by email anytime, and we will work to review your feedback and update Seathat as quickly as possible. This version also includes multilingual improvements, UI polish, and minor stability fixes
