Nach einigen Buchungen bei Secret Escapes hatte ich zum ersten Mal ein Problem mit dem gebuchten Hotel. Über den Livechat wurde mir sofort, freundlich, persönlich und verbindlich geholfen. So stelle ich mir Kundenfreundlichkeit vor.
Great short break at Elmbank
This has been a brilliant short break. Easy to book, good price, great hotel, all the staff at Elmbank are really friendly and professional, special mention to EVE and SHAYKEEN. Room comfortable and clean, lots of charm and character. The hotel has a terrace which is great because the sun actually came out! We had snacks outside and wine, and enjoyed the ambiance! Definitely worth the price and will visit again!

Ich habe Secret Escapes nun über 25 Mal gebucht und war immer hellauf begeistert! Ich habe mich dabei auf die höherpreisigen Hotels fokussiert und immer erstklassige Angebote vorgefunden. Die Abwicklung ist einfach und hat immer funktioniert.

Buchung für Hotel wurde bestätigt, sofort vollständig bezahlt, Flüge und Zug daraufhin von uns gebucht und nach mehr als 14 Tagen später erklärte man uns, dass das Hotel überbucht sei. Die angebotene Alternative war 60% günstiger, teilweise sehr schlecht bewertet und in vielen anderen Kriterien nicht zu vergleichen, ohne Preisausgleich sollten wir diese annehmen oder das Geld zurück bekommen. Es gab unzählige Emails und erst dann als Entschuldigung ein Guthaben von 130,00 Euro , vorher zunächst 30,00 Euro, auf die nächste Reise !! 🙈.
Es handelte sich um eine sehr stark nachgefragte Reisezeit (Ostern) so dass es sehr aufwendig war, eine Alternative zu finden. Diese Angelegenheit wurde aus unserer Sicht zu spät und sehr kundenunfreundlich geregelt.
Man darf trotz Buchungsbestätigung nicht davon ausgehen, dass man das Gebuchte am Ende auch bekommt. Daher vielleicht besser das angebotene Hotel direkt anfragen.

We don’t seem to get the best rooms in Harrogate the window was tiny wit a fire escape for a view and at Ringwood Hall had to put up wit the noise from the kitchen extractor fans 24 / 7.

Beware: Appalling Customer Service and Last-Minute Cancellations!
I had a disastrous experience with Secret Escapes, one that I wouldn’t wish on anyone hoping for a stress-free holiday. Just one day before our trip, they cancelled our reservation by email only, not even bothering with a courtesy call. We’d already booked our flights, leaving us in serious danger of arriving on foreign soil with nowhere to stay.
Their response? Far from sympathetic or helpful. When I called to ask for advice on rebooking, I was met with indifference and dismissive attitudes. They offered no solution, no guidance, and only added insult to injury by charging a £35 cancellation fee – for their own cancellation! If you’re considering Secret Escapes, I’d advise looking elsewhere. This company has no respect for its customers and seems more interested in profit than in delivering the holiday they promise. Avoid at all costs!
