Disappointing Support

I purchased a digital art piece a few months ago that is specifically designed to play in portrait mode. I then purchased a Samsung TV that included the Sedition art app and mounted the TV on the wall in portrait mode to display the art. The purchased art, however, would not play in portrait mode on the Sedition art app. When I contacted Support, they stated that the purchased art could not be rotated to portrait mode as intended, but I would have to find a TV with software to accomplish this. In addition, when I tried to play the digital Art on the TV, it quits playing within several minutes. When I contacted Support regarding the second issue, they did not provide a solution. The art itself is spectacular, but cannot be enjoyed for these reasons. I now have a TV mounted on the wall in portrait mode that is essentially useless.

Love the new update!

The app feels so much smoother and more modern. Streaming my art playlists to my TV works perfectly now, and the redesigned vault makes it way easier to manage my collection. Big upgrade.

Displaying world class art in my home

Love the app for displaying my favorite digital art. AirPlay compatible and connects to every TV or display in my home. creating my own curated Art playlists is something I’m enjoying right now - the artist lineup is unmatched!

Amazing Platform!

Absolutely love the platform! I feel spoilt for choice and my house always feels like an art gallery! Can’t recommend more!

Software Update

Seit dem letzten Update funktioniert die App so viel besser! Bisher hatte ich keine Probleme beim Abspielen von Medien. Toll!

Best app for digital by far

There is no other digital art gallery in the world offering such big names like Tracey Emin, Damien Hirst, Refik Anadol, etc etc. And now I can finally carry all my artworks easily with me! I love it! 🙏🏼🫶😎

Amazing!!

The new version is fantastic, it’s super easy to stream and enjoy my collection

It’s been two years without an update

Are you going to update the app at all?

Nice but Needs Polishing.

I had trouble creating a playlist on my iphone 14 pro and had to use a web browser.

Good concept. If you have a spare dedicated screen or smart tv and an old phone or pc… then it is a nice option, b/c you will need a phone/tv or a pc/display. This is so you can stream images and shorts to that device.

I wish it had a Roku smart tv channel, so I did not have to stream from my phone.

I’m sure someone could figure out a diy with a Raspberry Pi and display. That’d be great. Devs, maybe that’s something y’all could look into moving forward.

Support

Is there any support for this app? I have a 7 day trial. I am trying to create playlists but they do not show up on the playlists for a LG tv. Am I stuck with the same playlists on the tv? Where can I get support without resorting to writing a review and hope someone reaches out to me to resolve my problem?

Disappointing App - no customer support.

The app is impossible to use. Have contacted the site twice to cancel - no response. It is not performing the way it is advertised.

Buggy

The app is quite buggy, not allowing me to actually add works to a playlist. Can’t recommend.

App Requires Updating by Developers

App does not work properly on iPhone 14 Pro. Missing frames at top to access menu list items(very clunky to use). This could also be an issue with the app needing to be updated to iOS 16.0.3 compliant. Lost a potential customer here.

LOL, public license extra? What a scam!

Also is it true that you need a subscription to view art you already bought? Even worse scam if true.

Very Glitchy but ok Concept

Sorry it’s a one star. Great concept and nice platform for digital art. However, when you change artworks it does not load and the app has no help or support features. Given the premium monthly charge it could be significantly better. Artistic categories would also be nice eg, figurative etc rather than just still or dynamic.

5/5

I’m happy I was able to download my purchased art for offline viewing using this app.

Screen casting to my TV did not work

IOS Screen casting to my TV via Roku and my Apple TV player did not work. The audio worked but the image/video on the phone did not show when playing the playlist.

Five-star art, terrible app

The curated art content in Sedition is fantastic. 👍 But what’s the point if you can’t view it? I have to manually restart the Apple TV app a few times per hour after it stops on a black screen. I can’t just press the play button, that doesn’t work. I have to back out to the playlist index and pick a spot, it won’t remember where I was. 👎 I can’t play music and show art from Sedition at the same time because Sedition takes over the audio and has no ‘mute’ feature. 👎 I have to constantly manually adjust playlist ordering because the player does not have a “shuffle” feature. 👎 Sedition is not a sustainable product offering as it is right now because the app is so limited and unreliable. I plan to stay for as long as I can tolerate the frustration because the art is that good, but only if I see Sedition making significant investment in the app. The app went to a black screen during the time that it took me to type this review. 👎👎👎 Will I manually restart it this time or will I cancel Sedition? Each time this happens, several times per hour, I consider that qeuestion.

Update: Nothing changed after a year. So, I’m canceling my subscription.

Response from developer

Hi Ryan, Thank you for your valuable feedback, and we're sorry to hear about the artwork freezing and manual restart issue. We are testing the app on various devices at the moment to try to replicate and locate the issue and are working to resolve it as soon as we can. We are working continually to improve our apps and will add your comments about playing music and visuals together, and about playlist shuffle, to the list of improvements to make when we next update our Apple TV app (new releases will be announced in our magazine - seditionart.com/magazine - and in our newsletters). It is worth saying that playing artworks with external sound is something we would need to consider carefully as most of the artworks on Sedition are intended to be played as shown, whether with bespoke sound or without sound. If you would like to speak to our team directly please contact us at support@seditionart.com - if you have time it would be helpful if you could send us the model of Apple TV you are using when the issue occurs. Thank you again for your feedback and apologies again for the inconvenience.

Not what I expected

I thought this might be a good way to have a stream of random art to my tv but there are watermarks on everything and a huge message across the screen unless you purchase art. It’s basically only geared towards purchasing. Also, incredibly hard to figure out how to cancel your subscription. You should add a link.

Response from developer

Thank you for your review and we are sorry for this experience. It sounds like there was a problem with your subscription - subscribers shouldn't see watermarks. Please could you contact support@seditionart.com with your subscription email address, so that we can look into what has happened? You can cancel your subscription by visiting your Account page and clicking Art Stream, or by contacting our support team. Once again apologies for the inconvenience and thank you for your feedback.

Shocking...I won’t use these ever again

They charged my account even after I cancelled the trial. Thankfully apple are brilliant at helping out . Oh and even though they charged me, it still wouldn’t let me stream the art still showing ‘try for $15’.

Response from developer

Hello, thank you for your review and our sincere apologies for the issue you experienced. We are concerned to hear that your subscription didn't end after you cancelled it - this is unusual as our cancellation process does work well in general. We would be very grateful if you could contact support@seditionart.com with your email address so that we can look into what happened. Once again we're very sorry for the problems and inconvenience you experienced.
