Good personalized app for potty training

We used this app for our 5 year old neurodivergent son when we started him potty trained.

Standing at the toilet

It’s a good app and great visuals but I wish it had an option of standing and peeing in the toilet for boys

Amazing visual aid

My non verbal granddaughter bar a few repeated phrases is 3 and has really struggled with the concept of using her potty. I came across this app today and is the best £2 I spent, she has used her potty 3 times since watching the story. Last time unprompted!!!! I am so proud of her and extremely grateful that this app has been developed. It’s simple and easily navigated for children to use. Delighted!!!

My ASD kid love it

This app helped my son who is in the spectrum potty train. We will play it every hour that its time for him to go.

Creepy and minimal functions

This is so creepy and the sentences the child says dont make proper sense. My child was scared of it - just strange

Big Help!

I have used this app to do toilet training with several of my students with ASD. The visual actions and words are very helpful. I would love to see a variation for the boys shirt. Thank you!

Great!

My autistic son is loving it so far. We are on day 2 and have had 2 successful poo potties!

I would LOVE to have the poo scene take a little longer. I pause during that because my son takes a little longer. Washing hands scene should most definitely run the whole recommended time of hand washing. Maybe play a hand washing song or just say “wash, wash, wash” the whole time? I pause during this scene also so my son washes his hands longer. Would also be nice if the hair style was a little more ethic as my son is black and the short curly style is the closest it gets but it is very far from his hair.

It is a great app and I would recommend.

Love this

Purchased this app 9 years ago for kid 2. Loved it then. Helped create a script for the bathroom when potty training. Fast forward, my third kid is almost 5 and still watches this app daily over and over and over! I would love to see more apps like this for social skills.

Needs more updates

I love this app that shows kids how to be potty training an all but it needs to be updated and let it shows the kid having a Pee accident but not poop accident it should show both accidents

Sure, I’d like an Avakid animator app

My expectations for the Avakid animator app is:
1. Can have the video scenes to the app
2. Customizable animating, speech bubbles, and recording voices! (Especially customizable avatars, Avakids, and characters)
3. However long can be done, and all the other stuff from that potty/toilet-training app
All I can say

Good app

My son is really interested in watching and copying this app. I just wish I could pause or repeat some of the actions so as to give him more time to complete in real time. Please developers make this a feature then it would be perfect!!

This app worked for my 2.9 year old

I purchased this app on Monday morning and began using it straight away. I sat my daughter down on the potty and she watched it a bunch of times. She loves that the little girl she is watching is her, she copies all the words. She did a little wee and I got totally over the top excited for her and gave her a special treat.
Just survived day 2 and we’ve had no accidents.
This app really helped! Highly recommend.

Best App!

My children are long since potty trained and I still recommend this app to parents of little ones. I love how calm it is around potty stuff and how everything is clear and explained.

Needs more than one avatar option

I really like this app. My daughter is already walking around saying the lines and she’s loving it too.

A couple edits I wish would be added:

1) Make it so you can have multiple avatars.
I have twins, boy-girl, so every time I want to use the app for one, I’m trying to hurry up and change it from the boy to girl (or vice versa).

2) The opening credit takes way too long. Potty training a toddler means every second counts. I don’t have 4-5 seconds to wait for the app to launch, and then another 6seconds to tweak the avatar.

3) I wish the washing hands scene was a tad longer.

**************
Things I like:

1) it says what the child is doing at each step. So great for visual and audio reinforcement.

2) customizable avatar. My daughter loves seeing herself. When I try to show it to her using the boy avatar, she asks where she is and wants me to fix it. So smart.

3) “I did it!” Celebration at the end. My daughter gets a big smile every time it gets to that part.

Overall/ great little app. I’d definitely recommend it to others. Just really hope the devs update with some of the user recommendations.

Fantastic App for 5yr old on the spectrum

Attempting to help my LO use the toilet. Tried many things to help him go but to no avail. Before the app we were putting him on the toilet every hour. I think he was only going for a wee because we put him on there so much, not because he was consciously going pee.

Downloaded the app, made an avatar just like him and within 4 days he was consciously peeing on the toilet!! I love how it doesn’t have many words to explain the different steps. It’s just enough for my developmentally delayed spectrum boy.
He absolutely loves the little avatar. He bobs his head side to side when it says “walk walk walk to the bathroom”.

Thank you so much for creating this app. Toilet training is such a huge milestone/ goal for us being on the spectrum. I love that it’s just basic, not too many words and not too much going on in the pictures so it’s not overwhelming for my little guy.

Brilliant app

This app really helped my autistic daughter understand toilet training! It was a great visual aid! I’m now using it help my autistic son.

Go potty please

This app is a great animated social story. Our son with autism is in the process of learning how to go in the potty and loves the app. Using a child’s voice as the narrator is a great idea. I think it helps kids tune into what they are hearing. The other great thing about this app. Is the personalization. I hope the developer can add more apps teaching different skills like bed time, brushing teeth and getting a haircut.

Not helpful waste of money

This was not helpful, at all. It was creepy seeing the girl actually poop. It was very poorly made.

Absolutely phenomenal!

This is EXACTLY what we needed. We are a neurodiverse family and our child was not “getting” the idea of pooping in the potty. He was/is 100% successful with pee in potty but would NEVER poop in the potty. It just didn’t click. We would train hard for a while but after no success we would take a break, for weeks, then try again. We saw his doctor, a physical therapist, etc all who helped and had good ideas however I really believe it was him seeing over and over again, hearing it over and over, scripting with it over and over, then practicing it over and over while watching the avakid, that made it “click” we have been 90% successful the last week and I am absolutely thrilled. Thank you for making a realistic, step by step, visual and auditory guide for different learners!!! I could just hug you!!!

Very helpful

It helped my daughter instantly. She was potty trained within a week with that app. She was severely autistic, not verbal. Doing quite well now fortunately. That was maybe 5 or 6 years ago. We do not use it anymore since it worked so well but I wanted to give a good rating to the app because it is really good and can help some parents desperate to toilet train their toddlers.
