Really good game for an mobile game!!😀

Really good game for an mobile game!!😀

Pretty good until it died

A game that leans heavily in the direct of angband. Not that much depth, but that’s okay… I am not looking for a thousand-hour game on my phone, and there is plenty here for the roguelike fan: lots of powers, nifty items, plenty of nasty monsters to use both on.

Unfortunately, I just recalled into the middle of a giant zoo on 1150 ft, which causes the game to crash whenever I try to load it. Quite frustrating.

Finnaly castle of the winds style game

For og games who remember castle of the winds 1 and 2 this game style is the same it’s updated runs well and you don’t have to move 1 square at a time Untill you have enemy’s near moving 2
Thanks for bringing back child hood memory’s for me

Impossible to finish

Crashes on the lower levels and impossible to defeat the final boss

No virtual pad and buttons option.

Unplayable unless I can use a controller or virtual pad. The tap to move is SO tedious and takes multiple tries to get where I want. I tried making an exception because I love the graphics but I am just going to pass or wait and see for controller support.

Updated review: better after leveling up

Poor balance at early levels, gets better once you figure out how to make an overpowered build. Buying the full version and will update the review later.

Another feature: low battery usage.

So well done but crashes!

Such a great RPG! So much depth to character development, you'd think it was taken from D&D. Story is light, but then the focus is really on dungeon exploration. And holy cow, the levels get HUGE as you get deeper. And quite challenging too. There's quite a learning curve at first, but once you get past that, it's pretty smooth going.

The main problem though is the higher I've gotten in level (or deeper in the dungeon), the more often it crashes. I'm lvl 24 (mage) and just under 1000 ft, and inevitably the game crashes within 20-45 min of playing I'd say. Always while I'm in the middle of a battle. I'm assuming it's a memory leak, but 🤷‍♂️. I really hope these get fixed!
I'm on an iPhone 11 Max pro with iOS 13.5.1.

A true roguelike game.

I am sick of roguelike being used incorrectly everywhere. This game actually is one though. May not be catchy to the dumb people with short attention spans. But for lovers of tabletop D&D style gaming and those who played Larn, Hack, NetHack, Moria, Angband and of course Rogue this is a good implementation. It retains the fun strategies as well as the frustrations of the originals and brings back many memories of whole nights lost keeping my character alive and delving deep. Only thing missing is the list of your dead heroes. Not based on the best of these games but its a solid example of the era.

An awesome game

I’ve been playing this app for about a year now, maybe a little longer? Can’t remember but either way it’s a D&D inspired dungeon diver in a 2-d retro setting. Worth the download

Great game but fix level 2 of the crypt

Fix the issue that everyone has been complaining about on the second floor because it really does take away from the game and makes this less fun to play

Selling items

I’m at a loss of how to either store or sell items. Whenever you go up to one of the merchants, there’s an option to sell junk, but as to how I put stuff into the junk folder, I haven’t got a clue. My current character has too much stuff, but I just don’t want to drop it and leave it, I’d rather sell it. Is it even possible to do that? Otherwise, it’s a really cool game 😁

Unbalanced

It’s a good premise, but bad initiation. Getting past the 2nd floor is honestly more trouble than it’s worth. I got 10 weird little demons fearing me from out of vision, getting shot through walls before I even hit the room they’re all in, and the whole time they keep summoning hordes of monsters so progressing is impossible.

Actual gameplay is a lot of fun. Some balancing changes would make this game a lot better.

Good game but has issues

Love game was going to pay to remove ads and limitations but I am unable to do so. Forum hasn’t been accessed in months. Is game still supported?

Great game but...

I love the game but once i hit a slime trap i cant get out. When i get out of prone i immediately get knocked back into it. Idk if this is a bug or not. Will change review once fixed!

Great genre, horrible grinding

I lost interest once the endless waves of rats prevent any sense of adventure. Every classic rpg has a low-level “kill the rats” quest, but this one has a goal to kill 200 rats and several critters that spawn the rats. I’ve killed over 400 (maybe 600+) rats on level two (2!) of the crypt and I give up. They just keep coming. I just want to advance through the crypt, not get stuck in one space mindlessly battling wave after wave of spawning rats (and the occasional other infinitely summoned creatures). I don’t have the time in my life to handle the 15+ little green and little yellow spawn-wizard guys that look like Plankton from Spongebob Squarepants. Despite the developer note in another review, these DO shoot though walls. They also have essentially endless mana and teleport when approached with a melee weapon. Level 2 shouldn’t take hours to complete!

Nice roguelike

Good level of difficulty for a medium experienced player like me. Interesting ideas to keep combat challenging. Yet another adventurer trying to kill that pesky summoner boss :-)

Interesting RPG

I am a fan of these kind of RPGs, so I picked it up for free and got rid of ads for 2.99$.

Picking a fighter class, the choice of skills are nice. Battle is simple and the UI is easy to read.

My biggest gripe is with ranged attacks.

Enemies that cast spells or shoot missles, can hit you through walls and barred doors from far away. This happens way too often and most of the time you can do nothing about it. Your skills have Line of Sight and range restrictions, yet monsters have no such thing. This can make exploring difficult, as it seems that the AI (especially if it is in the dark spaces) “sees” you as if no obstacles are in the way.

You see a very small area with your torch, that will eventually go out. So spending time by running back and forth over and over, surrounded by rats summoned by a caster you can’t see, and getting hit by multiple spells from unseen casters can kill you VERY quickly. You need to buy a lantern and oil to get around that and see farther.

Once you get past that snafu, this game is not your normal stand and slash. Strategy and knowing when to run away will keep you alive. The town has your basic store selection, and the drops from monsters and from chests are greatly varied which is nice.

Overall, worth checking out!

Great concept, a bit buggy

Great roguelike crawler with loads of character options.

Actively being developed, considering feedback from users.

Very challenging in parts.

Finally removed the harsh penalty for death.

Great concept but tedious after a while

Love the game but after having to kill 1000 rats before dungeon lvl 3 (not exaggerating) and chasing the rat summoners all over the damn dungeon, Ive had enough.

Response from developer

Diatonically Challenged, It sounds like you might be interested in trying some powers that can more easily dispatch minions quickly. For mages, I recommend acid cloud. Rats will charge right into it and die by the dozen trying to get to you. You could also try a warrior with a reach weapon and AOE attacks like spinning slash. In both cases, the trick with the beratzu summoners is to avoid moving adjacent to them. Use reach weapons or ranged attacks, or possibly a powerful charge attack. Knocking them down, stunning, confusing or paralyzing them also prevents them from teleporting away. Use the terrain to your advantage and see if you can make them come to you instead of you going to them. Thanks for giving the game a try! Ted McLeod

Love this game!

I was looking for a fun little old school dungeon crawl and found this game. I had played for a little while initially, but was frustrated with the XP penalty on death and set it aside. But then to my surprise and delight, there was an update. The developer actually listens to feedback, responds to bug reports, and makes improvements and modifications that make this a delightfully addictive game! It’s still challenging, and takes strategizing, but every update makes it better. If you’re looking for a fun little old school rpg definitely give this game a chance!!
