Job search
This is a good job search website, if there is one thing I would change - display search results based on the latest job advert. Or at least have a way to order it. It’s frustrating when it shows old jobs first. The email notification also sends jobs almost a day later which is frustrating.
Horrible search engine
It never once matches me with the right list of jobs. The search engine is at its worst.
Seek search filters - irrelevant results
Unfortunately, SEEK’s search feature seems to be getting progressively worse. I have used SEEK for years, but over the past 6–12 months I have become increasingly disappointed and frustrated with the quality and relevance of the search results.
I am searching within very specific Business Administration categories, such as Office Manager and Executive Assistant roles, in specific locations. I also have the appropriate filters set for Administration and Office Support. Despite this, SEEK continues to push completely irrelevant jobs into my search results. I am even receiving mechanical and trade roles, which have absolutely nothing to do with my search criteria, experience or selected filters.
What is the point of providing detailed search filters if the results do not actually match them? It is becoming ridiculous and wastes a considerable amount of time having to scroll through irrelevant positions just to find jobs that meet the criteria I have already entered.
I have started looking at other employment platforms, and some appear to be much better at taking users directly to relevant job categories, descriptions and locations.
What is particularly concerning is that after I confirmed my identity and right to work in Australia through SEEK, the relevance of my searches seemed to become even worse. At this point, the search function feels like a total shambles.
I agree that SEEK’s visual design and general presentation are good, but that means very little when one of the platform’s most important functions — helping candidates find relevant jobs — is not working properly. The same problem also applies when searching SEEK through the website rather than the app.
It is a shame because I have used SEEK for many years, and I have never found its job-search functionality this poor. This is something SEEK seriously needs to investigate and improve if the platform is genuinely intended to help candidates efficiently find suitable employment.
P.S. I also believe recruitment agencies and employers should be more closely scrutinised regarding the advertisements they post. There appear to be questionable or potentially non-existent job advertisements, positions advertised without salary ranges, and situations where agencies seem more interested in adding candidates to their database than recruiting for a genuine vacancy.
Salary transparency should also be a basic requirement. Candidates invest considerable time applying, communicating with recruiters and attending interviews. Job seekers deserve clear and transparent information about whether a position genuinely exists, what it involves and what salary range is being offered. Candidates are not stupid, and these practices are increasingly obvious.

Going downhill
What on earth is going on with the “New to you” feature in saved searches??? From the Saved Searches page it says 12 new, so I click into that search but from there it shows 0 new. But then I toggle from All to New and it says 8 new. I go back to the main screen the amount of new is different again. Clock back in and get different numbers every time! I have 6 search templates set up and they’re all doing this and it’s making it practically impossible to keep track of what jobs I’ve seen and what’s new. All I can say is thank god for the date filter - it’s the only thing keeping me from deleting the app completely. Fix it please! Job hunting is stressful enough!

New listings error
Good app but recently started playing up with the number of new matches often incorrect or shows listings I’ve already seen. Quite annoying
