Finally! The Promise of Digital Dating Realized
SeeMe! is the prophecy of dating apps fully realized, even though it’s in its infancy. Sure, it has the standard account setup of interests and who you’re looking to meet, but there’s more to this app than simply swiping. Tap! has two main features I’m raving about, Open Date which allows you to setup a date in advance posting it publicly for potential matches to join you on. Heading out to see band at a local pub? Say no more fam. With Open Date, you choose the time, place, and date, sit back and wait for interested parties to accept and join you. Why sit through the awkward back and forth and misinterpreted texts when you can get straight to the date and let nature take its course.
The real star I’m waiting for is Nearby Matching. This feature works in real time to show you other SeeMe! users who are within Bluetooth range. Ever meet someone during a lunch rush or see someone but didn’t have the time to spark up a conversation? I’ve never seen a feature like this in all the dating apps, but you’ll have timeline showing you other SeeMe! users you came into proximity. If you match, setup an open date when you both have time. This leaves out the guess work of if you’ll ever see that person again, especially if they keep popping up in your timeline. Now I have my concerns for security and after looking into it, you’ll be able to setup blackout zones which will mask you from the app. So you’ll only be seen when you want to be seen without having to remember to have to turn it off when you’re near home or work. So far, I enjoy the look and feel of the app, but I’m looking forward to how it evolves and it’s already pushing the boundaries on what a dating app can be.
