A wonderful app

My 3 year old grandson progressed to this after Reading Magic 1 and Spelling Magic 1. The upgrade from FREE at $2.99 (under £2) is a bargain. This app is both structured and flexible, with a built-in tracking and reward system and games for "sight" words. There are helpful guidance notes on the app itself and the website. The pictures are attractive and stimulating but hidden until the child reads the words. This is better than books where pictures can distract or give too many clues. If you speak U.K. English, don't worry - the US accent is light and the vocal differences are slight - my grandson loved both.

Yes, this is magic to help teach sentence reading.

This app uses over 300 sentences broken down into 24 different lessons. It has four choices of sentence lengths. It starts with 2-word sentences and works up to 6-word sentences. There are about 75 sentences for every type of sentence length category. This app focuses on sentences containing short vowel, 3-letter words. It also uses 40 common sight words. The app has two games. In the first game, children take randomly placed words and arrange them into a sentence. In the second game, children read the sentence and then touch the picture to check their work. There are also a couple of site word games. The interface is nice and child friendly. I definitely like this app and how it has helped the children in my class become better readers. It has helped them read sentences as a whole more fluidly, rather than just being able to read the separate words in the sentences.
