User reviews

The idea behind Sentence is brilliant.

Having to write and scan a sentence before unlocking blocked apps creates just enough friction to stop impulsive scrolling. I've noticed a real drop in my screen time since using it. Simple concept, well executed.

Apps still stay unlocked after the timer ends

As the title says, even after the timer ends, the apps stay unlocked until I manually go open the sentences app. Only after this, the apps are locked again

Response from developer

Thanks for your feedback! This has been fixed in the latest update. You'll now receive a notification when your timer ends, just tap it, and your selected apps will be locked again.

Not all apps are getting locked?

App seem really cool and love the concept
I tried to lock some apps
Especially WhatsApp and Instagram and some others
Only some are getting locked and rest aren’t, not sure if this is a bug please look into the same

Response from developer

Thank you for the detailed feedback, it helps us identify the issue. A few steps to try: first, check your lock schedule in Sentence to ensure it covers the current day and time, as an inactive schedule will prevent any selected apps from locking. Next, remove WhatsApp and Instagram from your locked apps list, re-add them through the app picker, and restart your phone, as iOS occasionally requires this to refresh Screen Time permissions correctly. If the issue persists, please contact us at app.sentence1@gmail.com and we will be glad to assist further.

Simple way to enforce a good habit

I haven’t been a daily journaler for a long time. I like how Sentence is making it easy to rebuild the habit. Now no X for me until I write in my journal!

Response from developer

Thank you for the review! Thrilled to have Sentence playing a small part in helping you rebuild your daily routine.
