What's New in Sequincer

1.9.0

May 23, 2026

• Each track can now be routed to a 3rd-party instrument app, so you can use any iOS synth as the sound for that track while still seeing all your notes in the piano roll. A new routing button in the channel menu lets you pick the destination per track. • Broadcast mode publishes each track on its own virtual MIDI source so other apps can subscribe to "Sequincer N" directly. • A new "MIDI Output" setting controls whether Sequincer publishes its virtual MIDI ports on launch. • Selected notes can now be moved to a different track from Select mode, via a new "Move to track" button. • New setting to place the channel menu on the left side of the screen.

Great release

Super app for its presentation, performance and flexible integration into all sorts of app workflows

Poor

32 beat limit on all files within the free version. I can understand why they did it, but the experience I had composing within those 32 beats was horrible. You cannot select and move notes, a system that is implemented in many other sequencers, because then you would be able to bypass the 32 beat system. Notes can erase other notes if you accidentally drag the duration a slight bit past it. And if you edit a note duration of for example Bb, if it is in front of other B notes you have placed in the same session, there is a chance that ALL NOTES YOU HAVE PLACED IN THE B ROW ARE ERASED. This is because for some reason it makes the duration of the first note you play in the column big enough to destroy all other notes.. the sequencer is fundamentally flawed. This bug would never happen in a million years on other sequencers. There are some sequencers that you can use in just a fire fox tab that are better than this. Would not recommend.

Response from developer

Always looking for ways to improve the app. Thanks for the feedback, it’s useful. The current 7-note system means a B would compete with a Bb note and cannot take the same slot at the same time (unless you use a different track), but I’m working on a 12 note chromatic mode to overcome this limitation. There is a selection mode in the side toolbar that lets you select notes to move them vertically (transpose) or copy them to the next bar. I am looking at ways to improve this functionality. Updates coming soon.

Great Start for orchestrations

Takes a smidge work to get around. Great for importing music XML and editing. Best for seeing overall composition and sending midi parts.

FAQ

What is Sequincer?

Sequincer is a grid-based MIDI sequencer designed for iPhone and iPad. It allows users to easily compose music by tapping notes onto a grid, adjusting their duration, and layering multiple tracks with different instruments.

What are the different tiers in Sequincer?

Sequincer offers four tiers: a free preview tier, Loops (4 tracks, 64 beats), Producer (16 tracks, 1000 beats), and Composer (64 tracks, extensive beats). Each paid tier unlocks more tracks and composition length.

Can I import my existing music projects into Sequincer?

Yes, Sequincer supports importing MIDI files and MusicXML (sheet music). This allows you to bring your existing compositions into the app for further editing and arrangement.

Does Sequincer work with other music apps?

How does Sequincer handle timing and rhythm?

Sequincer offers flexible timing and rhythm options. You can create custom beat counts for each bar, zoom in/out on beat divisions (quarters, eighths, dotted rhythms), and add tempo change events to alter the speed of specific sections.

Is Sequincer suitable for beginners?

While powerful, Sequincer's grid-based system and intuitive note input make it accessible for beginners. The free preview tier allows users to explore its core functionalities before committing to a paid upgrade.

What devices does Sequincer support?
