About

Serpent River First Nation, or Genaabaajing, sits on the North Channel of Lake Huron between Sudbury and Sault Ste. Marie. Its app puts the community's updates, gatherings and notices side by side, and it costs nothing for anyone to install. Each month brings a community newsletter and a bulletin of what's ahead, from the Friday night social at the Lifestyle Centre to the fall clean-up, when rakes and brown paper bags come out across the community. Families can sign up for Wrapped in Stories, a 24-day December reading activity from the Early Years Program, and the Daily Dish sends cooks home each week with a new recipe and a meal to share. Work and learning opportunities show up here as well, like a resume and cover letter workshop at the learning hub and an open house and job fair for the North Shore Link power line project. Local artists are also invited to send in drawings, photos and colouring for community posters. A tap saves an event to your phone's own calendar, and posts can be sorted with tabs, searched or saved with a heart. Notifications keep you current without checking in. Designed for iPhone and iPad.

What's New in Serpent River First Nation

2.93.3

October 29, 2026

What's New • Smoother Feed: Scrolling is noticeably smoother, and posts no longer repeat or change order while you scroll. • Quicker Tabs: Switching tabs and signing in reload less, so the feed appears sooner. • Highlighted Notes: Important notes in posts now stand out in a shaded box. • Easier-to-Read Links: Links in posts stay clear and readable in dark mode. • Calendar: The month arrows now stay on the month you choose. • Notifications: Tapping a notification opens its post, even right after you install the app, and new installs set up notifications more reliably. • Slow Connections: Pages load more reliably when the signal is weak. Recently added: • Community Calendar: A tab with a month and week view of everything coming up. Tap a day to see its events, open one for the time and location, and add it straight to your own calendar. • Instant Search: Find any post in seconds, with results that appear as you type. • Richer Posts: News and events support headings, bold text, lists and links. • Custom Categories: Administrators can create their own feed categories, so posts are grouped the way the community chooses. • Dark Mode: The navigation bar follows your dark mode setting.
