What is the purpose of this app? all you do is hold your device up to your echo dot and then you just press the button and it says something,why not just say that thing! this app is so pointless,do not download I am so mad that I did

Echo dot problems
I have 3 echo dots.
2 were set up easily and work perfectly but the third has resisted all attempts to get it working and the various help lines I’ve contacted have been useless. I’m about to throw it away🤬
