Too Random

Not much strategy when most of the game is totally controlled by random events.

Fun accessible strategy

So glad I found this game, it’ll be a keeper on my phone, and I’ll play often. I appreciate the fair price with no crazy IAPs.

I had tried Imbroglio but found it too confusing, with iconography and rules that were overly complicated and never explained. Seven Scrolls, on the other hand, has really clear rules and iconography. It’s easy to learn and keep track of things as you play, and it isn’t confusing, it’s much more enjoyable, especially for all us more casual gamers out there. It does have enough depth to keep you coming back for more. It strikes a great balance.

I hope the developer keeps it as is and doesn’t add any complication to it, because this is perfect as is. The design and UI are fantastic too.

Thanks for a great game!

Top-Notch If/Then

tactical Broughlike that can be both challenging and frustrating, compelling and arbitrary.

I'll feel inordinately proud if I ever unlock all the monsters or make it close to the end.

Decent...

would be better priced at a buck or two... also the old English font is bad, near unreadable...

A Broughlike no other :)

Fans of Cinco Paus and 868-Hack will feel right at home. Newcomers can have fun exploring the myriad cause-effect key items via Scrolls.

The goal of the game is to play as a monk and survive 7 floors by finding a key to the exit through 7 rounds to achieve the highest score.

You’ll fight monsters, pick up items (keys, health, scrolls, and amulets every 7th round, etc.) using effects like teleportation, invisibility, duplication, revival and moving through walls via the scrolls that activate when certain conditions are met (such as healing or dealing damage, moving to the center, killing an enemy, picking up an item, or exiting the floor) that affect the player or monsters on the board.

Movement on the 5x5 board has a unique feature with Pac-Man-esque tunnels on the cardinal points to maneuver around enemies and reach the exit. The monk attacks via long range purple beams.

Things can get chaotic as the board fills up with monsters and your monk maxes out on the titular 7 scrolls.

The real challenge is whether to chase for a higher score or escape the floor with your life as monsters spawn more frequently the more turns spent on the floor.

There are in-game medals for finishing objectives during runs; however, there isn’t a leaderboard as far as I know.

Be bold and take a chance on a challenging, but rewarding game.
