Shade Compass: Sun Direction

Shade Compass draws the shadows cast by nearby buildings, and the clock dial lets you spin through any hour between sunrise and sunset to see how those shadows move. FEATURES Building shadow layer on the map Shadows cast by the buildings around you are drawn over the map, so you can see which side of the street is shaded and which way around is the cooler walk. A clock dial for any hour Turn the dial to change the time and the shadows move with it. Check now whether the spot you are meeting at will be shaded at three in the afternoon. The dial covers today's sunrise through sunset. Sun and shade direction The sun's azimuth and altitude for your current location, along with the direction the shade falls. Computed on your device The sun's position is worked out on the device, with no server involved. Your location is used only for that calculation and is never sent off the device. No account or sign-up is needed. Where building height data is missing or inaccurate the result can differ from what you see outside, and things that are not on the map, such as trees and awnings, are not accounted for.
