About

Understand native English. Then speak it. ShadowingExplore turns shadowing — repeating a native speaker right after you hear them — into practice anyone can keep up with. Built for the moments when: "They talk too fast for my mouth to keep up." "I just mumble along and call it done." "I can't tell how my pronunciation differs from theirs." THREE STEPS, THAT'S IT 1. Listen — follow along with karaoke-style subtitles that light up as each word is spoken 2. Shadow — with earphones in, speak right behind the speaker while the app records you 3. Compare — hear the speaker in one ear and yourself in the other, at the same time SEE HOW YOU SOUND Your pitch is drawn on the same graph as the speaker's, so you can spot exactly where your intonation drifts. Timing between your recording and the original is aligned automatically for an accurate comparison. After every take you get a sync score against the original. DRILL ONE SENTENCE AT A TIME Audio is split into sentences automatically. Repeat just the lines you can't catch, or select any words to save them as your own clip. START SLOW Slow playback from 0.6x to 1.0x, jump back or forward 0.5 seconds, and loop until you get it. Turn subtitles off when you're ready to train your ears alone. BUILT TO STICK A daily goal ring, streaks and your week at a glance on the home screen keep you coming back. AUDIO WORTH REPEATING Cruise announcements, a guide to Japanese izakaya, classic fairy tales and more — vivid English audio sorted by level in the Track Store, with more on the way. ALSO - Background playback and lock-screen controls - A hands-on guide for your first session, in 10 languages Shadowing works best with earphones. Tell us what you'd like to practice next in a review!
