This app is ridiculous. I opened the app only to be blasted with some loud, obnoxious music that I couldn’t turn off. Completely unnecessary and unrelated to the app. I deleted the app immediately.
Very out-of-date!
I agree with previous reviewers. It’s ok if you’re only travelling in the central area, but very out-of-date for the newer extensions of lines 9 or 5 for example. It seems the developers have stopped responding to these comments. It surely can’t be all that difficult to up-date the app?!
Outdated
This is the easiest interface to use that I’ve seen so far. Unfortunately a lot of the ‘newer’ (built 3yrs ago) lines and stations aren’t on here. Trying to get to an area and the app saying the station doesn’t exist isn’t the most convenient anymore... (eg Shanghai metro line 9)

now the app is totally updated, using it and very helpful to move around all over the Shanghai
Learning vs time efficiency...
I love that it helps me learn chinese! The other app was all in English, and I felt dumbed down. But the other app was a tap here and a tap to and all good. This one is a tap and a tap to route then having to remember what the place was to find. A little more time consuming. But again, I’d rather learn chinese.

Used to be GREAT. Now out of date.
I used this for all of 2014 living in Shanghai. But now it’s out of date. For example, it doesn’t have the Shanghai Natural History museum station. If it were updated, it would again become the best Shanghai subway app.
New map update
There are new subway stations that lunched recently but map is not updated

其他大部分都还可以，就是没有更新出17号线地铁和9、5号线地铁延长部分，请改进。
Clear and easy to find a route
Wow this is a game changer as a visitor in China it is one of the best apps I’ve got so far, is there a list of other cities metro systems if there is it would be a dream come true
Out of date
The app is out of date. Many metro stations and lines are missing.

Great app
Its being 1 year since the last update, that makes me sad since its really and easy to use app and map, compare to other route planers in my opinion.
Hope someday Mapway retake this app and take it back to the top as it is supposed to be ^^ keep the good work mapway!

Great tool!
This is a great app, it is well thought out and has a very clear, intuitive interface. It would be very helpful for veteran expats exploring new areas of the city and tourists in need of a helping hand. All we need now, is a map update to take into account the new stations that have popped up this year!

A the job done
Excellent basic functions. Clear interface to tell you where stations are in Mandarin and Pinyin, easy to use 'directions' functions which tells you how long it will take from one station to another. This does not take into account walking between lines when changing. A useful addition would be to allow passengers to see first and last trains, the intervals that trains are arriving, live train times and delays, station closures etc. It also takes a very long time to update when new lines are open. Line 13 had been fully open for months before they released an update. Overall fine for getting from A to B.

Map not up to date! Has missing stations!
This map hasn't been updated in a while and could do with an overhaul of all the new lines and stations in Shanghai.
For example, line 12 extends further across more stations and there's even a Disney Resort Station! Where is it? You'll need another map to show you that...
