Super user friendly, can access it on our phones and also have been using it on my laptop and tablet too, depending on what task I’m doing. The desktop version and reporting is really useful.

This app is very user friendly and has great support to go along with it.
Full of bugs, not suitable to replace farmworks.
Firstly the sales reps say it’s compatible with equipment it’s not, specifically the xrp2 reader. Support people are much more knowledgable.
I used the old stock recorder and farmworks for 9 years. Stockrecorder broke finally and new one is very expensive. Trialled this and it had issues. Today I tried weighing ewes 250 of them and would sort depending on weight gain/loss. It wouldn’t connect to weigh head. Then kept crashing. Then was connected when it said it wasn’t. Then it would add the next weight to the new animal before I had a chance to type the new tag number in. The keypad is unreliable. I ended up giving up. I couldn’t reliably record a weight against an animal. It kept crashing, kept changing to edit weight without touching anything and couldn’t reliable talk to weigh head. Next job is to draft and record tupping groups and I will likely end up using pen and paper otherwise it’ll be total guess work.

Been using My Farm Works for over a year now and would definitely recommend.
We have mainly been using it for recording medicines and movement with our commercial sheep flock and it’s been so easy to use. The support team have been great in any questions and are very knowledgeable. Great value for money, you can tell it has been developed by people who know what farmers need.

Good app can’t wait for more features
As a registered breed keeper it would be nice to be able to add a sheep’s name and search for those rather than be limited to searching tag numbers. Registered breeds tend to be known with their breed registration number or show name on all breed paperwork so would be nice to search and cross reference that way. Same for searching sire and dams, it’s normally the breed number /show name rather than tag number that’s looked up. It would also be nice for the dashboard to have the sheep in the groups to enable quicker selection if the search feature is not used.
A notes section in the sheep details would be helpful too.

Hi Nath, We’re pleased to let you know that it is now possible to record and search against the name of an animal and you can specify a management tag too if you like. We’ve also added the option to record comments, which you can choose to have pop up on the screen whenever the animal is handled and set a reminder date to display an alert on the dashboard. The app is constantly evolving with new features being added. There will soon be detailed options to record and report on births, as well as the facility to set scores against animals which you can customise to represent any traits or characteristics you wish.
