About

Shelter Maps shows the places closest to you where you can take cover, with live distance and direction, and opens directions in Apple Maps, Google Maps or Waze with one tap. • The closest place appears as soon as you open the app. • Works without internet: all data is stored on your phone. The map appears when you are online; the distance, the direction arrow and the list always work. • Clear labels on every place: – Official shelter site: on a government list of shelter sites (for example schools in Kuwait). The list does not say the site is underground. – Not verified: an underground metro station or car park mapped in OpenStreetMap. It may offer protection, but it is not an approved shelter. Every place shows its source and the date it was checked. • The national emergency number for your country, one tap to call, and how to turn on the official alerts your phone receives. • A Home Screen and Lock Screen widget and app-icon shortcuts: the closest place or the emergency numbers in one tap. • Six languages: English, العربية, اردو, हिन्दी, Filipino, Русский. • Covers the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Jordan, Qatar and Bahrain. • No accounts, no ads, no analytics, no tracking. Your location is processed on your phone and never leaves it. Shelter Maps is a community information guide, not an official emergency service. It sends no alerts. Places may be missing, closed or out of date. Always follow instructions from the authorities. Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL). Map images by OpenFreeMap.
