Life- And Relationship- Saver

Shift is not well advertised or marketed, but I fully believe it is the best product on the market. Their FREE adult content blocker helped free my fiancé from his addiction. I control the content blocker from my laptop. He does not control it from his own phone, so isn’t able to uninstall it. I tested it, and when typing in search terms they don’t even load the page for adult content. Additionally, for Google images you can see the filter working on each image and blocking anything that could be even remotely adult content.

Probably saved his life and definitely saved our relationship from porn. We will be buying the full product to help with social media time soon!

Decent but Needs improvement

Overall, the app has been very effective, and I really appreciate what it’s designed to do. However, I think there is room for improvement when it comes to determining what should and shouldn’t be considered a “threat.”

For example, a bicycle website may be completely harmless, and a picture of a stuffed animal obviously isn’t a threat, but the app will sometimes block things like this anyway. Currently, there doesn’t seem to be a way to report something as “not a threat” so that it can be reviewed and potentially whitelisted in the future.

I also think it would be extremely useful to have an emergency passcode or override option. There could be legitimate situations where someone needs temporary access to social media or another blocked platform—for example, if their account is being hacked, they need to respond to an important message, or there is another urgent situation. Having a secure emergency override that could be logged or reviewed afterward would provide some flexibility without compromising the app’s overall purpose.

Overall, I really like the app and think it has been helpful. Improving the threat-detection system and adding a controlled emergency override would make it even better

Buggy but cool

I love the mission and idea of the app, keeping people safe and not addicted…but the web filter is super buggy and makes page loads take forever. I also have to keep re-enrolling my phone even though I have done it before. Tech support was very responsive at first but now they have stopped answering my messages. Please help!

Made my phone unusable

This is great if you don’t like using your phone at all. Nothing loads in safari. Every single picture no matter what is blurred. Made my phone useless.

Poor quality

After downloading the software, I lost all my pictures and texts. They should emphasize backing up your phone before download. Also, every time I am on the internet (safari) the app is constantly blocking/bluring out images that are not sensitive material. Good idea. Poor execution

Heart & Soul in this app

Check these guys out on Pints with Aquinas podcast - Nick Stumphauzer, the inventor who has an interview on there. It goes to show that these guys aren’t just in this for money or success. They’ve got a mission to make the world a better place, and you can support these guys knowing they’re loyal to it and to you.

I love the idea

I think the idea is great but it definitely need better filtering . I usually try watching recipes to bake with and it even blurrs out those videos . It takes forever for it to filter out. I do like that I haven’t been on my phone as much because I literally can’t do much on my phone because it filters even things that are not explicit . It also slows down my phone but I’m just trying to adjust. I did it just to test it on my phone. Thinking I could use it for my kids tablet but honestly it needs a lot of updating in order for it to be functional.

SHIFT will change your life!

Absolutely love this app! ShiftYourPhone is one of those rare apps that actually makes you rethink how you use your phone. It’s beautifully designed, incredibly easy to use, and genuinely helps me be more intentional with my screen time. Such a smart concept and ridiculously well executed. Highly recommend!

Booo shift sucks

In a league of its own.

SHIFT is redefining this technology. Learn more about it. You won’t regret it.

It does nothing but can’t be deleted

I was looking everywhere to find the safari extension but I can’t toggle it

Thank you, SHIFT!

SHIFT stands high above any other accountability/filtering software I’ve used before, like Covenant Eyes, Ever Accountable, etc.!

It eliminates all the usual workarounds (deleting app/software, factory-resetting device, cancelling subscription, etc.). Once it’s on your device, it’s on it forever! I am so grateful for that! And it’s completely free.

I’ve been on the waitlist for SHIFT to release for months. And thus far, I couldn’t be more happy with it.
