SHITO-RYU5

Master MABUNI Kenwa (1889-1952) founder of the Shito-Ryu was first a pupil of Master ITOSU asutsume (1830-1915) living in SHURI at the beginning of its career. He then studied under the direction of Master HIGAONA Kanryo (1852-1915) living in NAHA. The school name of SHITO-RYU finds its origin in the names of the great Masters, by the connection of the two first syllabes constituting their names, -SHI pronounced ITO (in ITOSU), -TO pronounced HIGA (in HIGAONA) KATAS SHITO-RYU 5 5 katas : Kata Shito-Ryu Belt Black 5th DAN FFKDA : - 1.
