Nah, not for me
Sounded like a good idea, might even be a decent app but I found it hard to navigate, plus there were pages upon pages of rules and no way to email for later viewing or reference.
Cannot enlarge photos for better viewing and these old eyes can’t make out details.
Seller network doesn’t seem very active, my searches consistently ended with few items, often by the same vendor.

Needs updates
I used to LOVE Shop My Porch on Facebook. Then the app came out. It’s not user friendly. Hard to navigate and a bit confusing. I’ve been using it since it came out and it hasn’t been updated much, maybe once? Takes way too long to load. Sellers aren’t really updating their page. When you do log in it’s all the same sellers with the same type of products, mostly tumblers, crochet things, earrings, kiddy bracelets. Items I’ll never buy. Even using the search engine isn’t very useful. I still make search posts for what I need but I rarely get good responses or leads. I miss the supporting local aspect of Shop My Porch. You can switch to search only in your area but there’s not many sellers once you minimize that search. I hope it starts to blossom again because I love buying from sellers in my city. And I’m looking forward to updates

Not a great place for sellers
I, like many, joined the Shop My Porch community on Facebook during the pandemic. I loved having a local community of creatives to interact with, shop from only businesses in my area, and sell directly to people in my community. The page admin said she had created the page to help foster community and give us an alternative to Etsy because Etsy was unfavorable to sellers. It all seemed great at first. And then the page creator started becoming very passive aggressive and created a very hostile vibe. After the audience on Facebook grew, the page creator made this app. In order to continue to post and use the group, we were all forced to download this app. If your cross post on Facebook has people asking for more information or to message you, the mods turn off your comments in order to force you to communicate through this app. Now that doesn’t seem like fostering community or supporting small businesses does it? No its forcing people to funnel into your app to pay you a transaction fee. The app itself is confusing, not intuitive or user friendly. In fact, it makes very little sense. There is no easy, straightforward way to message people which is incredibly important. Overall, the shop my porch experience has left a bad taste in my mouth and I will no longer be using any of the affiliated pages or apps.

My go-to source for gifts and goodies
SMP has truly created a community of makers and customers in a way that hasn’t been done before. The app and the interactions help you to find amazing things in your local area, but also lets you look beyond your city borders. I have purchased a stunning, chunky knit blanket, found cool makers and products, and been blown away by the support from the SMP team. They truly care about the special community they are fostering.
The app offers great buyer protections and an easy experience, along with beautiful products. SMP is absolutely the first place I will look for things I know I want to buy, as well as things I didn’t know I needed. 5 stars for sure!

User Friendly!
This is the first app that I’ve loved as a maker! It was simple to join and post! I’ve seen the creators make changes based on what the customers and makers are suggesting and THAT is how I know it is going to be amazing! I am very satisfied with how it is working now and look forward to see what’s in the works!

Easy to use platform for makers and buyers
Love the new SMP app; let’s me do what I do best as a maker and not worry about the other details. I’ve also bought from other makers so I’ve seen both sides of the transaction. I’m looking forward to the continuous improvements to the app!
It’s ok..still needs a lot of work.
They don’t make it easy. Can only upload 1 picture, can’t message customers, you can only leave comments on posts and if they decide to delete your post, you will NOT get a notification which is really bad. It is definitely missing things. You won’t get paid till customer gets your order. It’s more like the poshmark app without the ability to message people.

As a maker and buyer, I’ve been loving the Shop My Porch app. It’s great finding makers in your neighborhood and be able to do porch pickups and save on shipping. Better than Etsy
I love the idea of finding unique gifts but also finding it close to home. Sometimes a last minute occasion pops up, and you can search or request for something specific or even ask for ideas, and have a gift as fast same day or next day. The app has its challenges but it’s creators diligently work to improve it routinely.

Shopping MY way!
I absolutely love the Shop my Porch app. I find it easy to navigate and they keep adding new features! It makes hunting for gifts and things I need SOOO simple. Tracking down a specific or personalized item ,and who can make it, is exhausting - and I usually give up, settling for more “generic” gifts. In just a couple weeks I have made a huge dent in my Christmas shopping - and I have personalized gifts this year! Not to mention all the amazing ideas that I have found while browsing and am saving for later. I’m hooked!

Other apps are social media rabbit holes, games, help w organization etc.. Shop My Porch is an incredibly useful app connecting makers (of ALL kinds) and buyers!!! We all love the convenience of shopping online, don’t we.. This app lets every person try to do the right thing & shop small❤️Shop My Porch also has buyer protection built in for peace of mind. Shop My Porch helps small businesses!
I have been with Shop My Porch from the start. Watched it grow from the porch of Phyllis all the way to app. Unfortunately, I can’t make it out to craft fairs and love to support small businesses so this is a perfect app for me to find what I need and shop small! I love how the people behind the app are always looking to find ways to listen to feedback and improve from it. I love how the administrators will come to your aid when you have a question. I have found so many gifts for friends and family and gotten so many comments about them. Love this app and can’t wait to see how far it will go!

Shop My Porch isn’t just a selling app. It’s where makers and neighbors come together to support each other. Positive community relationships are created and valued here. I’ve already made some amazing purchases through Shop My Porch. The creativity the makers have is incredible. You can find some special gifts here and if you don’t see something, someone will offer to make it if you ask! What really makes this app special is the foundation it’s built on. Phyllis, her husband, and their team have shown so much dedication to make this a place where everyone is welcome. They always take the time to check in and ask the community how they can continue to improve. They continue to work hard and make the app better everyday and that in itself is out of this world.
