Shore History

Shore History, founded in 1957 as the Eastern Shore of Virginia Historical Society, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with the mission of collecting, preserving, and sharing Eastern Shore history and culture through exhibits, programming, collections, and archives. We own and actively maintain two properties on the National Register of Historic Places, Ker Place and Hopkins & Bro. Store. We also serve as the caretaker of the Wise Family Cemetery. This app will take you through a visit of the museum at Ker Place with multiple self-guided tours. It can be used as you explore the museum in-person or from anywhere in the world for online visitors. Stories from over 400 years of Eastern Shore history are told with photographs, documents, and audio. You can also use the app to access our website where you can buy tickets and register for upcoming events and browse our online archive.
