This update focuses on making the app feel faster, more reliable, and easier to use—especially when handling photos stored in iCloud or waiting for a GPS signal. Improved Start-up and GPS Performance - We’ve overhauled the way the app opens to get you into the action faster. - New Splash Screen: You’ll now see a clean loading screen with the app icon instead of a blank page while the app gets ready. - Faster Location Fix: We’ve optimized how the app finds your GPS location, meaning you’ll spend less time waiting for a signal. - Better Feedback: If the GPS is taking a moment, the splash screen will now tell you exactly what’s happening, and there is a new Retry button if the connection is interrupted. Enhanced iCloud Integration - Managing photos that aren't stored locally on your device is now much clearer. - Progress Indicators: When viewing a photo stored in iCloud, you’ll see a low-resolution placeholder and a progress bar so you know exactly when the full-quality version is downloading. - Smarter Sharing: We’ve fixed issues where the Share button wouldn't work for iCloud photos. You’ll now see a "Downloading" notification when you tap share on an item that needs to be fetched from the cloud first. Refined Viewing Experience - Distraction-Free Mode: The toolbar in the photo and video viewer is now hidden by default to let your content shine. Just tap anywhere to bring the controls back. - Improved Gestures: We’ve removed the flickering that occurred when swiping to close a photo. Photos now animate smoothly in the direction you swipe. - Precision Tapping: Fixed a bug where tapping a thumbnail would sometimes open the wrong photo due to a constrained touch area. Stability and Privacy Updates - Clearer Permissions: We’ve updated the text on our permission screens to be easier to understand and added a shield icon to highlight our commitment to your privacy. - iPad Fixes: Resolved a common crash that occurred when trying to use the Share sheet on iPad. - Automatic Refresh: Your photo library now automatically refreshes whenever you return to the app from the background. - General Reliability: Various under-the-hood stability fixes to prevent the app from freezing or closing unexpectedly during heavy use.
