A Rare Gem
I love that you can add audio entries and even transcribe them.
I also love how you can add comments to entries. This is a great feature. You can reflect on old memories or thoughts by commenting on them — very unique aspect that few journals have.
I love that you can add up to 15 photos.
I love that you can add video recordings too.
The one thing that could make even better for me is allow us to set a default entry type. Like most of the time I’ll likely be using text entry, if we could set the button to our preferred entry type that would be awesome. Or perhaps let it remember our last choice.
If we could hold the new entry button in, then we could select the type of entry. But if we tap it directly it could remember our last choice or our default setting.
Another suggestion would be to allow us to add a quick entry from the app icon (on our Home Screen or dock) by pressing it in via the contextual menu. Both of these could speed up the new entry process and let us add new entries repetitively with ease.
Lastly, I’ve always wanted a journal app where we could choose the background color of our entries to add a splash of color. Custom theme choices would be a fantastic addition (for day and night). And a few additional app icon color choices to match our current Home Screen would be amazing.
I’m excited to try your Apple Watch app, a rarity in this genre. Another feature I’ve always wanted.

Privacy protection is great, but live camera takes pictures with lag

Now waterflowdiary has been renamed ShowDay. Thank you very much for your recognition of showday. After more than a dozen version iterations, there is no delay in taking live photos using the built-in camera.
