About
Every messaging app has a size limit, and a two-minute 4K clip blows through all of them. Shrink Video re-encodes it on your iPhone until it fits.
YOU SET THE SIZE, NOT A VAGUE PRESET
One slider controls the bitrate, which is what actually decides how big the file ends up. Above the slider is a live estimate of the result — drag it and watch the number move. What you see is what you get, give or take a few percent.
IT SHOWS YOU WHAT YOU STARTED WITH
Size, resolution, length and bitrate of the original, before you change anything. Then the same numbers for the result, with the percentage saved.
REAL CONTROLS
• Resolution: keep the original, or drop to 1080p, 720p or 480p. Going from 4K to 1080p roughly quarters the pixel count and is usually invisible on a phone screen.
• HEVC or H.264. HEVC is about 30% smaller at the same quality; H.264 offers broad compatibility with older devices and desktop workflows.
• Keep or drop the audio track.
FAST, BECAUSE IT USES THE HARDWARE
Encoding runs on your iPhone's built-in video encoder, not a server queue. There is nothing to upload and nothing to wait in line for.
YOUR ORIGINAL IS SAFE
Shrink Video always writes a new file. Your original is never touched — deleting it is left to you, once you are happy with the result. Save the compressed copy to Photos or share it straight from the app.
NOTHING LEAVES YOUR PHONE
No upload, no account, no server. The video is read, re-encoded and written entirely on your device. Free, supported by ads.
