Phenomenal App

Wonderful app. It is my main go to besides google. Maybe next update you can add a new species submission tool for adding to your database. I am in Eastern Canada so a specific database for the Atlantic Provinces would be another great update.

Rubbish

Total waste of money, needs a camera for immediate identification.

Great but…

Don’t get me wrong. This app is great, but it uses a UK mushroom database. While Europe is far superior than the US in its mushroom history and the mycology ranks, mushrooms and hunting are very specific to their respective regions. Easy example: Fly Agaric in Minnesota are generally yellow with white spots, not red with white spots.

FAQ

What does Shroomify do?

Shroomify is an offline guide designed to help users identify mushrooms. It allows you to select the characteristics of a mushroom to find potential matches within its extensive database of over 400 species.

How does Shroomify identify mushrooms?

Instead of relying on photo identification, Shroomify uses a smart algorithm that matches mushroom characteristics you input. This method is designed to be more reliable, especially in areas with poor connectivity.

Is Shroomify free to use?

The app is free to download and use, offering a substantial database of mushrooms. Additional features or expanded content may be available through in-app purchases, as indicated by the app's monetization model.

Can I use Shroomify without an internet connection?

Yes, Shroomify is an offline guide, meaning it does not require a data connection to function. This makes it ideal for use in remote woodlands or foraging locations where internet access may be unavailable.

What kind of information does Shroomify provide about mushrooms?

For each mushroom species, Shroomify offers expert-level detail, including edibility information, detailed graphs, and rankings by country. It also provides seasonal insights, highlighting the top mushrooms for the current month based on your location.
