About
Shush is an AI chat that runs on your iPhone instead of in the cloud. Download a model once, then ask it anything with the internet switched off.
By default nothing you type leaves the phone. No account, no sign in, no tracking. Your conversations are stored on your device and nowhere else, and you can erase every one of them whenever you want.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
Chat with open models from Qwen, Gemma and Ministral, running locally through Apple MLX.
Show it a photo and ask about it. Every model reads images.
Attach a PDF, a document or a spreadsheet and ask what is inside it.
Speak instead of typing. Dictation runs on the device, in your language.
Have any reply read back to you out loud.
Keep your chats, search them, rename them, and pick any of them up later.
Switch to a different model in the middle of a conversation and carry the thread across with you.
Read code with proper syntax highlighting, and watch the reasoning models think before they answer.
CHOOSING A MODEL
Seven models, from a compact 2B for iPhones with less memory up to a 9B for the newest ones. Shush only offers the ones your device can actually run, and shows the download size before you start, so you are not guessing whether your phone can handle one. Downloads run in the background and pick up where they left off.
PRIVATE BY DEFAULT
Your chats never leave the device. Web search is the one feature that reaches the internet, it stays switched off until you turn it on, and it asks before the first search. Everything else works in airplane mode, on a plane, in a tunnel, or on a trip with no signal.
One switch also keeps your conversations out of your iCloud backup, if you would rather they never sit on a server at all.
WHAT YOU NEED
An iPhone or iPad with at least 6 GB of memory, and room for the model you pick. A model is roughly 2 GB to 6 GB and downloads once. After that, Shush works with no connection at all.
