About
Sidewerk is the kitchen app for restaurants that run on Sidewerk. Managers write recipes and prep procedures on the web; this app puts them in the hands of the cooks on the line, on iPhone and on shared kitchen iPads.
COOKBOOK
Every recipe and build for your locations, with photos, search, and filters by type and category.
EVERY CONCEPT AND STORE
If your company runs more than one concept or store, the switcher at the top of the cookbook picks whose recipes you see, in a tap. Shared kitchen iPads stay on the store they are paired to.
RECIPES BUILT FOR SERVICE
Components with checkable rows and notes, step-by-step methods with photos and video, and details like storage, shelf life, allergens and equipment.
SCALE TO WHAT YOU HAVE
Tap any quantity or the yield and type the amount in front of you; every component rescales. Presets for half, double and triple batches.
LABELS
Print prep labels on your kitchen's Zebra printer, previewed exactly as they print: name, prepped by, prep date and use-by. One-off labels for anything that isn't a recipe.
WORKS WITHOUT WI-FI
Shared kitchen iPads keep the whole cookbook, with photos and video, encrypted on the device, and keep working when the network drops. A small banner says you're offline; nothing else changes.
TEAM
Managers add staff and set roles, locations, access and PINs, with the same permissions as on the web.
SHARED DEVICE SIGN-IN
Pair an iPad to a location once; staff sign in with a 4-digit PIN. It locks itself when idle.
ACCOUNTS
Sidewerk is issued by your employer. A manager creates your account and sets what you can see. There is no public sign-up and nothing to buy in the app. You can delete your account from User Settings at any time.

What's New in Sidewerk
1.3.1
October 23, 2026
• Shared kitchen iPads stay paired when Sidewerk is updated or reinstalled through device management. • On iPad, coming back to Sidewerk from another app shows the screen exactly as you left it, with the recipe beside the list. • After your PIN on a shared iPad, your last recipe opens beside the list again, with the menu and panel buttons.
