Sighties starts after the moment: the glance across a coffee shop, the guy you kept noticing at the gym, the almost-hello on the train, or the person you passed at a gallery, park, or neighborhood spot. Open the map and explore recent sightings tied to named public places. Every marker is a story about an encounter, never a person’s current location. CREATE A SIGHTING THAT FEELS HUMAN Choose the public place where you crossed paths, add the approximate date and time, and describe what made the moment memorable. Outfit details and a personal note can help the right person recognize the encounter, and an optional photo can add context about the place. Public times appear as rounded 15-minute windows, and every sighting expires after 48 hours so discovery stays timely. RECOGNIZE YOURSELF? SAY “THAT’S ME” Send one private claim with an optional verification note. The sighting author reviews the request and decides whether to confirm it. No public comments, no awkward performance, and no automatic match. Just a private, deliberate decision between the people connected to that moment. CONNECT WITHOUT ANOTHER INBOX A confirmed claim creates a private connection, but Sighties intentionally has no in-app chat. Each person independently chooses whether to reveal selected contact details for that specific connection. Sharing is never reciprocal by default: revealing your Instagram, Telegram, or another contact does not reveal theirs. You can update or revoke your own contact snapshot whenever the connection is active, while your private contact list stays off your public profile. KNOW WHAT’S MOVING Activity keeps requests, claims, confirmed connections, and your own sightings in one calm place. Review a “That’s Me” request, check whether your claim is still pending, return to a confirmed connection, or manage an open, closed, or expired sighting without digging through messages. PRIVACY THAT SHAPES THE PRODUCT Sighties is built around public places, short-lived posts, rounded encounter times, and consent-based contact sharing. Report a sighting, profile, or photo when something feels off. Blocking someone hides their content, ends the connection, and removes access to shared contacts. Public profiles use a nickname, age, city, and optional photo; private contact handles are never shown there. Sighties is for adults 18 and older. Claims are not identity verification, and the app cannot guarantee that someone is who they say they are. Use your judgment, keep first meetings in public, tell someone you trust, and share only what feels right.
