A great free resource for BSL learners
I’ve been using this app for a good few months in conjunction with InterSign BSL and they’re both fantastic resources! There’s definitely areas to be improved, as the other reviews suggested, but you really can’t beat a FREE resource like this! Absolutely fantastic, making learning sign more accessible for those who may not be able to afford a course!

This BSL dictionary is highly recommended for learners of BSL. Perfect? No. Pretty incredible free resource? Absolutely.

I’m currently only level 2, and this app has been very helpful!
I mostly use it when I have forgotten something and I need a quick find. Which is great. However the only issues I have is that it doesn’t say what region each sign is. Which is something that is important to know when learning.
This would make the app quicker and easier to use.

It’s amazing any word you need to know type up then there it is I found it really helpful for weird words that won’t be known by many people this was just a easy way to find words for bsl - LOVE IT

This app is great and so helpful but just really needs an update.

Love this App. It has really helped me to practice BSL in everyday life as I can search for words I’ve not yet learnt through my course. I like that there is usually more than 1 video showing the variations.

Good app however some words are not there ie: Calendar? Assumed all words would be there.. I’m currently studying BSL level 2 and find this app to be the best one out there so far and only just discovered it lol

I downloaded this app and it is amazing i love how its shows videos of how you do the signs and how there are different videos of different people doing them.
I really like how you can search what you would like to say and how if you scroll to the bottom sometimes it gives you other words which are similar.
It’s really useful but i do wish you could like do a course and I wish it showed you key sentences like my name is and hello how are you so you don't have to search individual words.
Bar those two things really loved it and would definitely recommend it.

Great app to learn but needs more words
Videos show the signs for words you can search for. Great. But I would love to see an update where, if you search for a word and it isn’t in the list of videos (which happens a lot) then you can send a sort of “suggest add” to ask the developers to create a video of that word for the list.

This app is good but I think that there is only one problem, when you go onto search the suggestions are random words. I would like it more if instead of the suggestions it had your recent searches so you can refresh. But other than that, this app is great. I started learning BSL a few days ago and I used to always go on the website, and have to keep searching for it. But now it’s on an app. I would recommend this app to anyone who wants to learn British Sign Language. 👍

Loving the app. I’m currently learning BSL level 1, and this app is incredibly useful for gaps in my knowledge.
However, with the difference in signs, it would be good to know which are the regional songs and where they are from as I know signs in London can differ to those to the West and the North.

Thank you so much for this App. I am currently learning BSL to help Deaf people learn the Bible. This has been an invaluable one-stop place to visit for help with vocabulary!

I use this app pretty much every day and I love it. I would REALLY like to see a ‘save’ or ‘favourites’ button though, so I can keep track of the vocab I’m learning. Pretty please?!

Needs work
The app is good with videos for the words I’m searching for. However the ‘previously searched words’ are not mine, so each time I go on the app there’s loads of quick links to weird words. I want my previous ones to be displayed so I can refresh when needed. It’d be helpful to be able to save favourites as well and have categories to help me better search for appropriate words.
