What's New in Signal Loss

2.1

July 20, 2026

SIGNAL LOSS 2.1 A fluidity update for the camera, and X-ray vision for presets. // CAMERA - motion previews now remember your framing. Swap between moves and every one launches from the shot you composed; when a move finishes, the camera glides home instead of snapping. SPIRAL and SEARCH arrive at rest, and SEARCH now loops seamlessly. // PRESETS - Tap any preset to see exactly what's inside: filter, loss, lens, motion, mesh settings, background. Presets also now save and restore which camera move you chose (previously only its speed) — re-save any preset whose motion matters to you. // NEW MOTIONS THREAD pushes the camera through the point cloud on a weaving path, made for MACRO and close-up work. HOVER is a levitating still that loops seamlessly. Twenty-one moves in all. ALSO... ORB no longer drifts offscreen at low wrap.

保存先どこ?

iPhoneでDLして使ってるけど、エクスポートが全然できない。iPhoneに保存されない。RECした映像はどこへ?

Response from developer

We're curious as well! That's the last thing we want for you. Can you give us more information so we can help you assess what's happening? You're welcome to email me, the developer, via david@allentattoo.com. If you tell me what phone you're using and send a screenshot, I'm sure I can help!

More import options?

Really convenient and cool-- can you add import ply and import spz/splat to ply options? Also the camera not resetting to last start position when swapping lens/motion options is inconvenient

Response from developer

Thank you for this! And great catch. I just pushed an update to address the camera not resetting to the last start position. We have to limit importing right now as to not overwhelm the variety of phones that are using this app. But we're looking into this and maybe there's a way to screen and limit the size that's efficient.

What is Signal Loss?

Signal Loss transforms any photo into a navigable 3D point cloud scene. You can move through, animate, and distort the scene, creating cinematic camera moves and surreal particle effects directly on your device.

How does Signal Loss work?

Every pixel in your photo becomes a 3D point colored from the original image. This creates a navigable scene made of particles, processed locally on your iPhone without cloud processing or special hardware.

Can I use Signal Loss offline?

Yes, Signal Loss processes all images locally on your device. Photos are processed locally and never uploaded to a server, meaning you do not need an internet connection to use its core features.

What kind of effects can I apply in Signal Loss?

Signal Loss offers 32 real-time effects that run live on the GPU. These include RAW, Fog, Slice, Contour, Echo, Bloom, False Color, Wire, Dust, Wave, Lines, Swarm, Veil, Prism, Rift, Bore, and Drift, allowing for diverse visual transformations.

What devices is Signal Loss compatible with?

Signal Loss is currently supported on iPhone devices. For advanced LiDAR capture capabilities, iPhone Pro users can build glitchy and unaligned point clouds from the real world.

What are the export options for Signal Loss?

Signal Loss allows you to export 4K and 8K stills, high-resolution video loops (H.264), transparent PNGs with alpha, point clouds (PLY) for external software like Blender, and spatial stereoscopic scenes for Apple Vision Pro.
