Silo has an okay foundation, but needs some improvement
User of 5 years here: In a market where transparency and real-time insight are becoming standard, Silo feels a bit behind.
While it’s not designed for active trading, it would still be helpful to see how the underlying stocks are performing — even just for transparency and user engagement. Knowing where your money is going adds value, even if you’re not making day-to-day decisions. The performance tracking is also lacking — showing only total returns since inception doesn’t give an accurate picture. A year-on-year breakdown would provide better context for how investments are actually doing.
The weekly insights and quarterly reviews are a nice idea, but they’re not easy to interpret if you’re not finance-savvy. Some simplification or explanation would go a long way in making them more useful to the average user.
On the technical side, the app hasn’t been updated in over a year and has some frustrating bugs — for example, being prompted to log in again every few uses. For an investment platform, that kind of friction really affects trust and usability.
Silo has a solid foundation, but it needs more frequent updates, improved transparency, and a more intuitive user experience to truly meet the expectations of modern investors.

Difficult to use
This is a reasonable investment firm and the app is good for showing balances and account information. However, it has a complex and difficult-to-trust dynamic for making further investments which is really off putting. They need to make this function easier and obviously safer. It would also help if they didn’t use ridiculous buzz words like ‘Boost’ but instead spoke in plain English (like ‘Add funds to your account’).

Would give zero stars
My daughter had a child trust fund with another provider who stopped doing this type of account, they transferred her account to here in September 2020. She turned 18 a few weeks ago and her account appears frozen since then. Overall the account is worth less than I have paid in and I’m glad I don’t have to waste any more money (minimum payment of £25 each month). I now have to try and work out how to retrieve her money as they app doesn’t let me read or check if there are any messages.

Takes its time to give you your money
Been waiting over 2 weeks for my money just to be told I have to wait another week and they take money from you every so often so you end up losing money
