Simple Angelus

Simple Angelus is a faithful digital companion for the traditional Catholic devotion of the Angelus. It rings the bell at the three canonical hours — morning, noon, and evening — and presents the prayers of the Church simply and beautifully. The app follows the pre-1955 traditional Roman calendar. The Regina Caeli replaces the Angelus from Easter Sunday through the Saturday before Trinity Sunday, as the Church has always done. Prayer postures observe Benedict XIV's 1742 decree: kneeling on weekdays, standing during Paschaltide and on Sundays. Prayers are offered in English, Spanish, French, and the Latin of the Roman Missal. Notifications include excerpts from the Alma Redemptoris Mater or the Regina Caeli — automatically swapped according to the season — at gentle volume. Simple Angelus asks nothing of you except that you pause and pray. It contains no advertisements, no subscriptions, no in-app purchases, no donation prompts, and no accounts. It collects no data.
