When started, the clock takes system time at the starting point as a 0 starting point for it's implied seconds, which makes it definately late by the system number of not shown seconds.
Even if not taking the correct seconds into account, shifting the starting point by +30 seconds instead would reduce possible mistake twice: from -30 to +30 seconds.
