Thanks for taking the time to write in — this was genuinely helpful. On the ads: we've reviewed the advertisers appearing in the app and removed a batch of the low-quality ones, so you should notice a cleaner mix from here on. The free version is ad-supported — that's what keeps it free for everyone — but the quality of those ads is on us, and we've tightened it up. We've also just made the app noticeably faster to open, with more improvements on the way. And if you'd prefer no ads at all, the upgrade removes them entirely.

Fantastic little app

Love this I have a few lists one for groceries one for maintenance stuff another for
take list when shopping and check them off as I go

Latest update issue

App was working fine till the latest update, when you want to edit the list the curser ends up back to the end of the list rather than where you want to edit.

Close but no cigar. Fortunately, I don’t smoke.

I like the app, but have just one complaint, although in my mind it’s an important complaint. When you add something to your list, you have to hit return rather than Hitting the + to add another item. I think this is an oversight that should be easily rectified. Other than that, I do like the program. I like it simplicity.

Thanks for your feedback! Have you tried the “bulk add” option? It’s the icon just to the left of the single add (+) button. With bulk add, you can type out your whole list and add everything in one go. No need to hit return each time. The (+) button is mainly for quickly adding one item, like if you forgot something and want to pop it in quickly. But bulk add works great for that use case too. I find myself using bulk add all the time :)

Too limiting

Simple Shopping List is too limiting. It would be nice to have more than one list on this app.

You can have multiple lists—online and offline too! The app defaults to one list (since that was the original vision), but you can change this in Settings. There are also FAQs and Usage Tips with more details. If you have more questions, don’t hesitate to contact us at support@lamigsoftware.com

What’s gone wrong

Something changed in this app about a couple of months ago. From being a brilliant and useful app for shopping has become almost unusable. Too frequently I can’t open my list. This seems to be because the app wants to use the internet before showing me my list. The internet often is not available in a store. I am so fed up with it I am deleting it and will use another app that so far works well.

Updates actually make the user interface worse

I downloaded this app a few years ago to do my groceries. One of the updates made it so that when an item from the list was crossed off as completed it would automatically move it to the bottom of the list. I found that super frustrating because I wanted to maintain my list week to week in that specific order for my usual items regardless of whether they were checked off or not. They finally changed it back but now in the most recent update they also made another unnecessary change. Instead of crossing out the items now you have these teeny tiny boxes on the side that are really hard to select unless you have the font size way up. I’m going delete this app because clearly the developer has no awareness in what they are doing when trying to make these “improvements”. As the old saying goes, if it ain’t broke don’t fix it!!
