What's New in SimplyMaths
2.0.0
September 5, 2026
Version 2.0 is a rebuilt SimplyMaths. Please note: this update signs everyone out once. Parents and students both need to sign in again the first time they open it. Nothing is lost. Every profile, result and report is still there. YEARS 7 AND 8 - The selective-entry path is now open to Years 7 and 8, with its own lessons, mini exams and full papers. - Seven Mastery modules sit above the main path for students who want to push further. - Years 2 to 8 are now all covered. A CLEARER LEARNING PATH - Years 5 and above get a board that shows the whole year at once, so it is obvious where your child is and what is left. - Years 2 and 3 get one simple trail and a mission page written for a younger reader. - Every module now shows the mini exam that tests it, right beside it, and says so plainly when there is not one. - A module page that changes with the age of the child reading it. EXAMS AND PRACTICE - Full papers and mini exams are now two separate tabs, instead of a switch buried inside one screen. - Quizzes get the same start screen as an exam, so nothing begins by accident. - Mini exams are numbered the way a child reads them, from 1. LESSONS - Every lesson opens on a contents page, so a child can see what is coming before they start. - Years 2 and 3 open on pictures rather than a wall of text, with a contents page they can actually read. - Figures no longer glare in dark mode. - Tapping a hint no longer gives away the answer. INSIGHTS - The student Insights tab is rebuilt around one goal, the marks it is costing, and the next step to take. - The parent dashboard is rebuilt around one message: where your child is, what it is costing, and what you can do about it. - The home screen is quieter. The detailed charts moved into Insights, where they belong. - A child with nothing done yet gets somewhere to start, instead of a screen of empty frames. FOR PARENTS - The terms are now shown in the app, so a new profile can be set up without leaving it. - More of the phone screen is given back to the page you are actually reading.
