FAQ
How does Simu extract Fujifilm recipes?
Simu reads Fujifilm camera recipe settings directly from screenshots of posts or web pages, or from original JPEG/HEIF files taken by your camera. It can process up to twenty imports at once.
Can Simu transfer recipes to my camera?
Yes, Simu connects to your Fujifilm camera via USB and writes the extracted or created recipe settings into the camera's C1-C7 custom slots. It backs up existing slots before overwriting and allows for restoring any write.
Does Simu require an internet connection or account?
No, Simu operates entirely offline without requiring an internet connection, account, cloud AI, or subscription. All processing and data transfer happen locally.
How can I share Fujifilm recipes using Simu?
You can share any recipe or kit created in Simu as a short code, a link, or a QR code. These codes include a checksum for integrity and contain the entire recipe without needing a server.
What Fujifilm cameras are supported by Simu?
Currently, the X100VI camera is supported for RAW file development. Simu writes to C1-C7 for other cameras, with RAW development for those models being in beta. The app is available on iPhone and iPad.
What does Simu do with RAW files?
Simu can develop your camera's RAW files using recipes from its library directly on the camera's processor. The developed pictures are then sent back at full size to be saved to your Photos app.
How does Simu handle settings not present in a screenshot?
If a setting is mentioned in a recipe but not clearly visible in the screenshot, Simu marks it as 'Unread'. Settings not mentioned in a recipe are written as the camera's neutral values.
Is Simu free to use?
Yes, Simu is available for free. The application does not have ads or require a subscription, offering its full functionality without cost.
