Simple and Efficient App
Not able to access getups
Okay, not perfect
- landscape mode completely messes with the layout on my SE iphone
- no haptics or dings or anything to let you know when 60s or 30s has passed
- no way to distinguish 1 hand vs 2 hand swings
- no integration with apple health or watch
- no data export
- no timer for the rest period between getups and swings
It’s all so barebones that I can’t justify paying for the premium edition, which is the only way to even track weights you use.
Too many small annoyances
1. Dark mode issues. There is no in-app way to change from light to dark mode, you have to go all the way to system settings. Additionally, you can’t see the weights in your history while in dark mode.
2. Timer annoyances. I can understand the appeal to a simple timer, but sometimes I forget to click the button at the start. Would love the ability to tack on time manually to estimate stuff that I forgot to properly tracker.
3. Weight tracking annoyances. Wish I could change the weight of lifts either during the lifting session or in the history. This is especially true when I want to try a heavier weight, but might miss it and don’t want to improperly track things.
4. Lacking reports. Would like the reports to show my progress from S to S+ in some way. Even just an average/total weight lifted for swings/TGUs would be nice.
Even with all these critiques, I’m gonna keep using the app because it provides some value. It just leaves quite a bit to be desired.
Nearly great
Response from developer
Appreciate the feedback. A new version is coming that does address the weights. I'll look into the stop button functionality and hopefully bundle that up in the new release as well.
Excellent App, Almost Perfect
- No way of differing between a 2 handed swing and a one handed swing. Not a big deal but it would be nice as the book does recommend doing 2H every few days.
- The history & progress pages have a lot of info that isn’t mine. I’m curious if it’s just pulling from other workouts folks have done to fill in that day.
- No way to backup the data. Such as Dropbox or other services or a local backup. Not a big deal since the main focus of the app is to track the exercise and it does that swimmingly but this would be a nice feature.
Other than that it’s an awesome app and I hope it keeps being worked on. It’s very appreciated.
Response from developer
edit: the bogus data should be removed in any newly installed versions! Thanks for the feedback. I unfortunately had to rush out a release to change the name due to legal issues. I deployed a development version that had pre populated workout data. You can swipe the workouts to the left to delete them.
How to get to getups?
Response from developer
you have to finish the swings first before the getups. the app doesn't support doing some of the swings and some of the getups, it's just meant to track the complete workout.
History function doesn’t work
Response from developer
Hey there mik75/, what device is this happening on? I assume it’s an iPhone, but what version of iPhone so I can try and recreate the issue. I have a new release about to come out and would love to include a fix to your problem.
Useful app but timings are wrong way round!
Flawless
2.0 gates basic functionality behind paywall
Response from developer
what functionality is missing in the new one that wasn’t present before? anything pay walled didn’t exist before.
Simple and So So
Response from developer
Hey Mick -- great news, I just updated it last night to track swings and getups separately and display a brief history of the workout. I'd love to hear what you think about the latest version. I'm sure there's more to do!
Work with StrongFirst?
Love the App - But buggy...

Thanks for the response! Look forward to the update. And thanks again for the app.
Simple as it should be
Would be great to add some thing to keep track of one arm swing also I for get witch side I’m at some time 😅.
Thank you for putting this together
Response from developer
Glad you like it, and thanks for the feedback!
Love the simplicity
I’d pay for that.
Response from developer
Thanks for the feedback. I’ve been trying to set aside some time to work on this. Exporting data sounds like a nice feature!
Awesome so far!
Dev: if you can flush this app out more—like add Apple Health and Apple Watch integrations—I would have no hesitation throwing money at you.
Good stuff
Exactly what was needed.
Saying that though there is heaps of potential. Warm up phase of routine, cool downs, logging weights, diary, analytics etc. Fingers crossed the developer has these resources because it could be mind blowing.
It could become an warranted pay for app, but hopefully not a subscription service.
Good luck and thanks again.
Power to you Comrade 💪🏻
