What's New SMARTER AI ANALYSIS (Premium) - The analysis now understands context: when an earthquake is part of a sequence, it tells you whether it is probably an aftershock, the main shock or part of a swarm, and relates it to other nearby events. - New "Probable effects on nearby cities" section: how the shaking was likely felt in the closest towns, with an estimated Mercalli intensity for each one. - Clearer explanations: technical terms are explained in plain language. - Better coverage of deep earthquakes: why they happen inside the sinking plate, why they are felt over wider areas and why they usually have few aftershocks. - Uses official USGS data when available: moment tensor, ShakeMap, "Did You Feel It?" reports, PAGER and tectonic summaries. REAL FOCAL MECHANISM - The focal mechanism "beach ball" is now a true projection based on the USGS moment tensor, showing the compression (P) and tension (T) axes and both fault planes. - Clearly shows whether the mechanism is official USGS data or an estimate. REDESIGNED TSUNAMI SECTION (Premium) - First shows whether the earthquake could generate a tsunami and why (magnitude, depth and USGS evaluation). - Separate assessments for the nearest coastal area and for your location, each with its own risk level, elevation and distance. - Deep earthquakes are no longer treated as tsunami sources. MORE REALISTIC INTENSITIES - New Mercalli intensity estimate, more accurate for both shallow and deep earthquakes. - Over 50 new reference cities across Chile, Central America, the Caribbean, the Pacific and Asia. GENERAL IMPROVEMENTS - Faster loading of earthquake details. SismoPulse is an informational tool and does not replace official warnings from tsunami centers or local authorities.
