About
Hold one question in mind, take a breath, throw the coins six times, and read the hexagram.
COINS THAT FOLLOW YOUR HAND
Three worn Qianlong cash coins are driven in real time by the phone's motion sensors. Push your hand up and stop, and they fly on by inertia: tumbling, clinking, landing on the table, each impact with its own sound and haptic. Prefer not to move the phone? Tap the coins instead.
EXACTLY FAIR
Every coin is exactly fifty-fifty, guaranteed by a cryptographically secure random bit. How it works is explained in plain language inside the app.
A READING YOU CAN FOLLOW
Which text applies is decided by Zhu Xi's seven rules for changing lines. Every text is shown three ways: the Chinese original, a literal English rendering, and a reading in plain words that follows Zhu Xi's 12th-century commentary line by line. It adds no promises the text does not make and softens none of its warnings.
THE WHOLE BOOK IN YOUR POCKET
All 64 hexagrams: judgment, Tuan commentary, the Image, six lines and the small Image commentary. Available in Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, English, Japanese and Korean. The Chinese text was collated against two standard editions; the English was translated fresh and does not reproduce any published translation.
WHAT IT DOES NOT DO
It does not predict events and it does not decide for you, and it is no substitute for medical, legal or financial advice. The text offers a way of looking at your situation.
