Great but also bad
Good but could be improved
Overall the app is good and useful but it could be improved to make it easier for users that are beginners. I’d also like to have more info on the recommendations - if it says I need this or that serum, it would be good to know why

Lacking major product lines

Not fond of recommended products
1. 99% of features are behind a paywall
2. I set my ingredient preferences, yet still nearly ALL recommended routine products score poorly on Yuka. Those that score better are brands unknown to me (not willing to blind buy), brands I know don’t work for me, or brands you can’t buy in my country.
3. Routine building is based entirely on the skin profile, which wasn’t very accurate to begin with. My main skin concern is oil and pore management, but it insisted I focus on blemishes. Ma’am, those aren’t BLEMISHES they are FRECKLES.
4. Because the routine product suggestions are for entirely the wrong skin concerns, the products proposed are useless to me. Even with, see above, the fact that most products are poor suggestions in the first place.
5. I can’t build my own routine with products that I know work for me. It’ll tell me a cleanser or serum is wrong for me because it causes breakouts, even though I know it doesn’t. That is the nature of skincare - sometimes one person’s trash is another’s holy grail. It fully just denies me the ability to add my preferred products to my routine because it *might* do xyz.
I have many more gripes. These are the worst of them.
Response from developer
Thanks for taking the time to write such a detailed review. I am sorry the experience felt frustrating. I want to clarify a few points so other readers have the right expectations, and also point you to the settings that give you full control. 1. Paywall While we do offer optional Pro features, it is not accurate that 99% of the app is behind a paywall. You can build a detailed multi-step routine, track it, and access detailed analytics on the free plan. Pro mainly unlocks additional advanced features rather than basic routine building and tracking. 2. Yuka scores and product quality Yuka is not designed to rate skincare performance or suitability. Its scoring methodology is built for a food category, and it does not evaluate formulations the way skincare needs to be evaluated. Skin Bliss focuses on cosmetic formulations and ingredient functions in the context of your skin profile and routine goals, so the two scores are not directly comparable. 3. Skin profile accuracy and concern selection If the scan result was off (for example, freckles interpreted as blemishes), you can fully correct that. Go to the You tab -> Skin settings. Every dimension of your profile can be adjusted manually, and your routine suggestions will follow your edited profile. 4. Wrong focus leading to wrong routine suggestions This is tied to the skin profile settings above. Once your profile reflects how you actually experience your skin (for example, oil and pore management rather than blemishes), the routine builder adjusts its recommendations accordingly. 5. Adding your own products to your routine You can add any products you want, including custom products and products you already know work for you. Our compatibility scores are meant to guide and inform - they are not meant to be normative, and they do not block you from building your own routine.

Great app BUT
Worth to try!
- products are disappearing from routine if chosen “in rotate schedule”. It’s impossible to return them, because they stays in routine but aren’t displayed
- “check your progress” doesn’t show any adequate results
