Struggling with app

This app is so so so helpful.
Some pages are broken and I wasn’t sure where to put that feedback. Milia page needs a fix as it’s not go the information updated. The round up pages under skin 101 don’t load either

Game Changing!!!

I LOVE this app so much. As someone who finds skincare very overwhelming and so has put off finding a routine that suits my skin, this app has helped me create a routine that has my skin looking better than ever and increased my confidence so much. Absolutely love this app!!

Would Love A Notes Option

I love that I can search a database of thousands of products before I buy. What would really love though is the option to make notes against products. I’ve tried so many new products thanks to Caroline’s amazing kits, but not all products are suitable for my skin and it would be great to be able to say make notes of specific reactions or what’s amazing about a product. This would keep my list of products much more relevant.

All content now behind a paywall

I understand the need to make money but what started as free editorial content now sits behind a paywall. All of it! The only thing that doesn’t appear to sit behind it is your skin profile and a shopping list of possible things to BUY! I enjoyed the content but actually I can find similar on other channels which I sometimes choose to pay for on subscription because of the variety.

I still think Caroline Hirons is pretty amazing but I deleted the app. Not for me.

Nothing loads

Every time I click on an article, in any of the categories, the wheel spins and no content appears. Despite multiple app removals and downloads, the problem persists. I acces the app on an iPad.

Fantastic app

My go to before buying

I’ve had this app since it was released and use it whenever I’m looking for something new. I trust Caroline’s advice and recommendations implicitly.
However, since upgrading to the new app, I find it glitchy. I can’t tap and open some products I want to read about which is frustrating.
When I add more filters to look at products with a particular ingredient, eg peptides, add my profile and Caroline’s approved products, the app says there are 39 products to view but when I click on it, no products appear.
I understand apps are always being updated so wanted to mention this.
I’d also like to have a filter for types of products, eg cleansers with a filter for fragranced/fragrance free and filter balms, oils, creams etc
I still love the app overall for information I can read and products I would never think to look at or purchase

CH highlights/reviews now under membership view only

Love this app. I’ve had it since last year. I recently noticed that they revamped the app. While I like the look and organization of this new version, I’m super bummed I can’t see anything CH recommends, highlights, or reviews. You can only see it if you pay a membership. I’m truly bummed out about this because reading her input is what drew me to this app in the first place. Nothing wrong with wanting to charge for certain access, I busy wish that was still free.

Response from developer

Hello, The free version of the app will still be regularly updated with content on a weekly basis and enhanced with new features in 2024. You will still have access to our comprehensive, growing library of over 23,000 products as well as educational content on The Column, including (but not limited to) some of your favourites, such as Beauty News, our Think Science™ glossaries and skincare guides. Lucy, Skin Rocks Team.

Really useful

Premium version
The ability to find products and especially “founder favourites “ really good feature. Good articles and guides as well.

Useless

All this app does is pair your skin up with expensive products. You’d be better off googling a few articles about skin.

Response from developer

Hello, The free version is great for skincare beginners looking to find products suited to their skin and brush up on all of the education a novice might need, whilst the Premium subscription is perfect for self-proclaimed skincare aficionados, providing you with access to everything available on the free version of the app, plus the following features: Exclusive Caroline Hirons content in our dedicated CH Says section, the re-birth and continuation of Caroline’s original blog. Exclusive content on The Column, including all of our expert-written product reviews, First Impressions, Desk Diaries, Testing Shelfs and more. Advanced filtering options allow users to filter products by Price and ‘Founder Favourite’ The ability to bookmark your favourite or must-read articles for later viewing. Add personal notes to product reviews. I hope this provides further clarify on what you can enjoy on the Skin Rocks app. Lucy, Skin Rocks Team

Love love

This is fabulous! I’m loving being able to look at all the skincare and cosmetics that are suited to my needs. The only silly thing is that I’m from the USA so I wonder in the future if there’s a way to add a feature converting the pounds to the individual’s particular currency.

Response from developer

Hello, Your feedback is important to us so thank you for taking the time to leave a 5 star review. Currently GBP is the preferred and only currency available for product prices. Feedback is reviewed regularly so that we can establish where this improvement might be implemented. Lucy, Skin Rocks Team.

Friendly user interface + Informative

Beautifully designed app that explains skincare clearly and comprehensively.

The explanations of ingredients are its strong point- very transparent, balanced and explained simply without sacrificing detail.

The product reviews are fairly unremarkable, and the Skin Rocks products are hailed above all else (unsurprisingly), but the feature where you can save and review the products you own is a nice touch.

I sincerely wish there was an option to download articles for offline viewing.

Great app but skin match not showing anymore 🙁

The app is really helpful and I especially loved it when it was showing my skin match on different products I was searching. I don’t know if they’ve removed it as an option or it’s a bug. Tried to delete the app and reinstall it but still the same 🙁

Love it but wish it had more features to compare product uses

I get this app out every time I’m stood in boots/space NK etc but I’d really love the section where you add your purchased products to put them in order of when to use and I’d like to be able to add an item I’m considering and be told if it’s the same as something I’m already using - Or if I shouldn’t use it alongside something I already am. For example today I have bought the Kate Somerville dermalquench with retinol but I already use Skin & Me and I don’t understand if they are the same thing? Or ok to use together? At the moment that section just feels like a Pinterest board. I also relied on the % marker for suitability but that seems to have disappeared. Love Caroline though and trust her 100% - I understand apps are always improved upon so hopefully these things are in the future.

app doesn’t work

I love Caroline but the app is unusable. You can’t save favourite products, you can’t filter products to find what is best for you, it just comes up with 0% matches. Really disappointing and the team really need to look into making changes urgently

Caroline Hirons sucks

This is an app developed by a self-important hypocrite who can’t stand strong women with a different view. From what I’ve seen, the companies/products that get favourable recommendations are the ones that pay her for advertising.

4 stars!

Hi! I am almost a teen and trying to keep acne under control. I was recommended the app by a family member, and I recommend this app to people as well. The articles from dermatologists are very helpful and I know I can trust this app. My only problem is that I wish there was more options for me to use of certain products. I know that the app may be filtered and directed for middle-aged woman, but it would be great if there were more options and recommendations for teens like me. Otherwise, this app is great and I will continue to build a routine with it!

Response from developer

Hello, It is great to hear your feedback. As a pre-teen, we appreciate the limited product choice available to you. This is due to compliance rules - unless a product specifically states that it is targeted for pre teen/child, the age bracket starts at 16+. Despite these restrictions, we hope that you still enjoy reading contact from qualified experts on The Column and you enjoy building your skincare routine ~ Skin Rocks Team.

Recent update not retained login

Now asking me to login and when selecting my google profile there is nothing stored under “me” - stuck in a loop entering first name and surname, no profile. Tried killing and restarting but still same, what’s happened?

Good but too much!

I overall like the app, but I want to be able to filter out products by that Caroline and then skin rocks team actually recommend (the ticks), otherwise there’s no quality control as far as I can see

Love the idea but very buggy

Caroline Hirons is great and I love where she’s going here. However the QA of the app was very poor as the app is full of bugs. First I couldn’t create an account - was stuck in a loop where it would give me an error about ticking T&Cs but once T&Cs were ticked it didn’t allow me to progress to create account with email. When I finally got in with a long winded workaround, the app lacked proper onboarding (this admittedly not a bug). Another bug was that all the products I hearted didn’t end up showing up in neither of the two lists… Also (not a bug) but would be nice to filter sunscreens by mineral vs chemical.
